    I worked at Sullivan's Steakhouse

    Pros

The money from tips was great, especially when working large parties or private dining rooms. Managers were involved and got along well with the staff for the most part. Great coworkers made it easy to want to work, and had fun while we were there!

    Cons

In the service industry you always run across customers who are hard to deal with. Some guests are particularly difficult and entitled since it is a high end establishment. Other than that, the only other thing I can think of as a con would be the irregular hours sometimes make work-life balance difficult.

I have been working at Sullivan's Steakhouse

    Pros

Great People to work with. Everyone was down to earth and helpful. Swarming only worked if other had time

    Cons

Like all servers there is a lot of dealing with mean customers. Days are long. Sometimes Management would give to many people double shifts in a row and mangers play favorites. Management often hinted that women would get paid better for being more flirtatious or dressing more provocatively.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat your people well, and they will do great work for you!

I worked at Sullivan's Steakhouse full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Serving staff was friendly and helpful, making for a fun and light work environment. Easy to manipulate your schedule depending on your needs.

    Cons

Management was inconsistent. Constant turnover with both servers and managers. Inconsistent clientele, sometimes you would make hundreds a night and sometimes you would be lucky to walk with $50.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more consistent with management techniques and incentive programs.

    Pros

Great camaraderie among staff. Great money. Flexible schedules. Supportive management. Lots of business clientele. Great wine list.

    Cons

Uniforms for females that contribute to the rude male guests treating the females like they are "for sale". Good party opportunities aren't always rotated fairly.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep marketing the restaurant to hotels and local businesses.

I worked at Sullivan's Steakhouse full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

People are GREAT....very generous rewards are given for selling a featured product....shift meal, healthcare

    Cons

the money is not consistent AT ALL, located in the galleria area and still will have five reservations on a given night, manager turnover is constant, no real leadership, one manager will tell you one thing but another will tell you something different, "busy" times are ONLY during holidays

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

communicate with each other in order to get a clear message to your servers.

I worked at Sullivan's Steakhouse part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

semi-good money, great hours. Family meal

    Cons

high tipout for servers (25%). TONS OF MANAGEMENT TURNOVER. No career opportunity growth. Way too corporate. Management uses pre-shift as a way to unload frustrations on employees, not to motivate.
