I worked at Sulzer Pumps (us)

    Pros

we were always allowed to take on new challenges from both a project management and engineering standpoints and we were given proper training,

    Cons

The industry was saturated with competitors so growth was very limited and our performance was very cyclical and unstable at times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

hire more young blood, diversify product portfolio in order to access new market segments and create leverage on the long term.

I have been working at Sulzer Pumps (us)

    Pros

Good people, a very global and diverse company, makes great products, has offices around the world, tied to numerous industries.

    Cons

Very beauroctratic, many overly rigid procedures.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

While Sulzer is a strong, fantastic company, an improvement in our work processes to be less rigid and bureaucratic would go a long way.

  7.

Focused on micro managing and has lost site of the customer.

I have been working at Sulzer Pumps (us)

    Pros

Great 401k, Lots of vacation early, max 5 weeks I think. Health care used to be good but gets more expensive every year. Global company with opportunity for advancement and relocation (if you can get in with the right crowd).

    Cons

Sulzer has lost site of the customer and is more interested in micro managing to the point of interfering with getting the job done. Sulzer changed over to SAP which is a total nightmare to work with at least on the customer support side. The sales structure has changed and we have lost many good salesmen because of it. People are abandoning ship left and right. I would not recommend it. Myself and many others are actively looking for employment elsewhere.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Support your people and treat them like a valued team member and they will do a good job for you.
