    Pros

Great coworkers, fun place to work.

    Cons

    Too many policies, some micromanagers

    Advice to Management

Focus on the big picture and not micromanaging the managers. Let the managers grow the people and financials will improve.

    Pros

Benefits are great, pay is ok. I felt that my work made a direct impact.

    Cons

Having a good manager is dependent on your advancement. Many employees have been there a 10 or 15+ and seem content with job. Tough to get people to think outside of the box.

    Advice to Management

Upper management have great ideas to differentiate Summit from other financials, however the number of "new" products and services coming in and out can be overwhelming.

    Pros

GREAT MANAGEMENT. FAMILY ATMOSPHERE WHERE EVERYONE TAKES PART IN DECISIONS AND PLANNING. PAY IS HIGHER THAN MOST COMPETITORS. GREAT PLACE TO LEARN YOUR JOB. TRAINING IS AMAZING. THERE ARE SALES GOALS AS WITH ANY FINANCIAL BUT THEY DON'T SHOVE THEM DOWN YOUR THROAT. IF YOU AREN'T PERFORMING THEY WORK WITH YOU TO HELP YOU HELP THE MEMBERS. YOU DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT LOSING YOUR JOB EVERYDAY JUST BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T DISPURSE ENOUGH IN LOANS.

    Cons

A LOT OF UPWARD MOVEMENT IN THE COMPANY MEANS THAT MANY BRANCHES ARE OFTEN SHORT STAFFED.

    Advice to Management

DONT LOSE YOUR FOCUS. SALES ARE IMPORTANT BUT DON'T TURN INTO A SALES MOTIVATED FINANCIAL.

    Pros

Credit union was sincere about helping their members achieve financial success. Members were treated like they were part of a family.

    Cons

Employees lacked experienced engaging in discussions with members to identify referral opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Provide more one-on-one training to help employees become more confident and comfortable engaging in discusssions to uncover opportunities to help members.

    Pros

Very progressive. good training, room for advancement. Talented employees.

    Cons

VP Retail. Losing top tier employees rapidly. instead of grooming them for future with credit union, losing them because of short sightedness. Too much power for that position. Very wasteful and leaves a bad image for Credit Union and the Branch.. New Hire Managers quitting in less than 30 days?? Bullying is not a proper management technique.

    Advice to Management

    Address loss of talent.

    Pros

Fair pay, great benefits, good coworkers. I enjoyed working there, and my wife still does. I still help my wife in community events that represent the credit union.

    Cons

Lots of office politics!! There was always 'back-stabbing' and managers playing favorites, and being very obvious about it.

    Advice to Management

When an important decision is being made, get more than 1 source of information. Sometimes managers have a heavy bias.
