    Pros

The work environment is pleasant, and there are plenty of open lab and desk space. The chemical fumes are also kept to a minimum due to proper ventilation.

    Cons

The cafeteria space could get some additional attention. A new offering of snacks and beverages is underway, but I would like to see more food options onsite.

    Advice to Management

I would suggest implementing training to new employees quicker to allow better integration into the projects and work to be accomplished.

    Pros

Met a lot great people and was given opportunity to learn many aspects of the ink industry.

    Cons

Raises are small and have been frozen some years. Overtime has been almost nonexistent for years. Training seems to be mostly by online video and forces you to learn a great deal through trial and error.

    Advice to Management

Give a little bit it improves moral greatly.

    Pros

Opportunities for people who want to make a difference in a number of countries, runs the gamut from technical to professional.

    Cons

Very competitive industry with tight margins means you have to get the products and customer service right.

    Advice to Management

Keep seeking new markets and opportunities while emphasizing the importance of taking responsibility for each and every person working at the company - we need to drive the business forward as well.

    Pros

Sun Chemical was a good place to get a start on working with SAP, working with billing, invoicing and basic accounting.

    Cons

Sun chemical offered very little room for advancement and the pay was not particularly good.

    Advice to Management

Sun chemical management should provide greater room for advancement and offer better compensation packages.

    Pros

Great work/life balance. First line management seem to be in tune with employees.

    Cons

Senior leadership are preparing for a mass exodus (judging by their ages) into retirement. There does not seem to be a proper preparation for that day. Also, there are no employee events held any longer, tuition reimbursement has been cut out, even during profitable years.

    Advice to Management

Invest in your people and prepare for the future.

    Pros

At Sun you are part of the team. Teamwork is very good in all levels of the company.

    Cons

At this point I just don't have the time off that is needed to provide a good work/life balance.

    Advice to Management

    None

    Pros

Benefits are ok; there are some really good people working there. Most of the time you can adjust your schedule for a time if needed.

    Cons

No advancement, no raises, bad communication, horrible corporate policies. Management would change every few months trying to implement new strategies or programs. Since SAP implementation, there is less collaboration between groups, or even within groups.

    Advice to Management

Get out of your isolated corporate offices. Get feedback from all levels, have respect for the experience and knowledge employees have gained. Managers of departments should have some background or experience in the area they are managing

    Pros

Health benefits are decent, dollar for dollar match on 401k, sometimes get tickets to games

    Cons

No tuition reimbursement, terrible customer service, unclean/outdated facilities, cheap office, no real advancement for growth

    Advice to Management

Provide a chance for advancement and bonuses would be nice!

    Pros

The work itself is fairly easy, and the technical colour aspects are pretty simple. Flexible schedules are a great bonus, and the management try to keep you happy when they come in.

    Cons

The pay isn't what it should be, especially when you have to deal with awful customers. If you need equipment to make the job easier, or sometimes safety equipment required by OSHA, it will take some time to get it in. The fumes can be pretty irritating as well. The biggest complaint by far is customers whom mess everything up then blame you.
The benefits really aren't the greatest, and won't send you cards. HR is extremely slow at dealing with any issues, or processing paperwork.

    Advice to Management

Consider making the benefits no-cost to employees.
