Pros
Sun's employees were some of the best I have ever worked for. Sun also encouraged their employees to take initiative and find creative solutions.
Cons
Alas, Sun couldn't get back from the dot.com fall. As great leadership started leaving Sun, the profit margins started dwindling. The decision for the reverse stock split discouraged people from future purchases as they became skeptical of Sun's future.
Pros
The company had a comfortable, laid-back atmosphere and was very welcoming to interns. Compensation has competitive with the best of silicon valley.
Cons
This period was not particularly productive for the company. Fewer products made it to market than should have. Perhaps this was changed by the Oracle buyout.
Advice to Senior Management
There leadership has almost completely changed in the last 18 months. Perspective employees should probably research Oracle's leadership reviews for more information.
