I wish Sun had taken bigger staff cuts earlier in existence

Innovation, new ideas are always welcome from everyone.
Decent pay just over industry standards

Poor executive management sloppy in execution and being unable to monetize excellent products.
Regular layoffs towards the final years.
Managers getting defensive as they are continuously preparing the "RIF" list.
Non existent bonuses and shares were pretty much worthless. however they made it up a bit with decent salaries.

Very flexible, good benefits. Managers were great.

Upper management was no good.

Upper management need to be replaced.

There was a reasonable environment for a junior engineer to get going for a few years of experience. Beyond that, it's a bad place to hang around because of the bad senior management leadership and bad middle management leadership.

Senior leadership roles tend to reward those who bringing the messages they want to hear to
re-assure themselves that they are seemingly doing the right thing. Middle management leadership roles follow the policy set by the senior management roles. It's like a herd following
a blind lead.
Advice to Senior Management
Stop amusing themselves with the message of their own preference. Talk to people in the
trenches or closer to the trenches to understand the reality so as to readjust their understanding
and their dreams.
