    Cons

Sometimes expectations from mgmt are too high. Can't perform miracles for free! W/L Balance is a challenge

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I worked at SunGard full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

SunGard offers decent work-life balance, work from home, and stability.

    Cons

Biggest drawback is lack of career growth and development. The recent efforts to promote career growth has been superficial.
Salary stays stagnant and many people are leaving the firm as the economy improves and opportunities arise outside the firm
Also, Asset Management group is very disorganized, lacking strategy and vision. Many competing products with an army of car-salesman type management.
Lastly its glorifies the above breed of car salesman type personality.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

1.Create a career track for existing employees
    2. Create a strategy , vision and improved communication between products
    2. Fire incompetent management and sales staff and pay market rate for your existing performing employees

I worked at SunGard full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Nice perks: Can work from home from time to time, great gifts on your 5-10-15 years at work.

    Smart developers

Constantly improving the release cycle and following the best practices.

    Cons

Re-organization can happen frequently so this can be stressful.

Depending on the above, you can have a manager that doesn't share the same vision or ideas at all with the previous one so you will need to adapt.

I worked at SunGard full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Lots of product lines catering to just about every market. Globally recognized name (can be a pro or con).

    Cons

SunGard grows by acquisition but does not do a great job of integrating those new businesses. The senior people in each acquired unit tend to have their eye on the door or on a more senior role elsewhere at SG and you are left with a lot of C+ talent.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Follow through on some of the integration of the acquired businesses.

    Love my coworkers

I have been working at SunGard

    Pros

I have an amazing group of coworkers, which is one the reasons that I have stayed as long as I have.
My immediate managers are caring and genuinely look out for those people who work under them .

    Cons

Lack of concern for employee morale, limited ability to move up in the company, high benefit copays and stagnant salary.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

With the lack of even basic loving raises and the increased cost of benefits, many employees are making less than they did years ago.
