    Pros

Through the downturn in the economy had my best years in earnings. Ability to work in a flexible wfh and office environment. Opportunity to work with people with significantly different experiences to help me grow my skills. Ability to contribute across business lines like a small company while still working for a big company

    Cons

takes a long time to remove bad managers, Finance/accounting has too much say/internal systems are challenging to work with and need to be improved to facilitate sales

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Value customer and contact relationships more then geographic lines, show your top performers in revenue you value them as much as the performers who out perform quota by the percentage over quota, improve marketing efforts to return our brand value

    Pros

    - The people I worked with on a daily basis were great.
    - Process and Procedures were well documented and clear. Human Resources "stuff" was always easy to take care of.
    - Benefits and PTO are very good.

    Cons

    - Management (middle and senior level) cannot see past themselves. I am not sure if this "closed minded" philosophy is dictated from the Executive Team, but it exist across multiple segments.
-Failure to reward employees with a pay raise. In my 5 years, never received more then a cost of living raise

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reconsider the philosophy for performance reviews. The current reviews were a joke and provide zero road map for development.

    Pros

Some large clients. Not many positives at SunGard.

    Cons

Terrible sales compensation plan, which includes multiple low caps on commissions, low commissions, and some very low commissions.

Management is all politics, no vision or leadership.

SunGard is really a cobbled together group of companies, that is not well integrated.

A strong "yes man" culture stiffles creativity and productivity.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Needs to be replaced, company restructured.

You have a ton of free time, and it seems like the management doesn't really care what you do

You don't do any substantive work

    Pros

Very flexible work environment with relatively low workload stress. A lot of freedom in day-to-day work. Still staffed by good people at the ground level.

    Cons

Work environment has slipped since the last re-org (from groups by product to groups by function). Some groups are mired in contention over which group is really in charge. Products that aren't growing aren't providing growth opportunities for employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Refocus on the fundamentals - find problems customers will pay us to solve and solve them.

    Pros

There are no pros to working here...

    Cons

Low salaries, no opportunity for advancement, poorly developed software solutions, management team that is not open to new ideas, micro-management from the top down.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Open your eyes. When you speak of operating under the guise of best practices, you need to realize that employees that have been in the company for 30 years have no sense of best practices. Open up the door to new ideas and insights before you tank the company with your controlling silo's and your micro-management.

    Pros

Great benefits - generous vacation policy. They seem to have finally heard the complaints of a dissatisfied workforce and are making changes for the better.

    Cons

Low wages and no raises. No opportunities for upward movement. Both of these are driven by our continual loss of customers to competitors.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Quit reorganizing; Focus on Customer Service and new products. Stop nickel and diming. How hard should it be for a developed to acquire a $25 piece of software that will enhance productivity.

    Pros

During my tenure with SunGard, the management team put a lot of programs and processes into place that helped employees grow and develop. The team truly understood where they were going and how to achieve the next level.

    Cons

The constant change with little to no employee communication made it difficult to focus as you were always wondering when the ax was going to fall.

    Cons

everything above is gone .. ALL in PUNE INDIA
the upper management has blinders on running from one trend to the next spending money in India like its going out of stile and driving customers away as fast as possible . unless your part of the cloud team .
