Pros
Sense of job security for sure.
Cons
Too many old people at the top
Advice to Senior Management
Modernize your systems and stop waiting for the other banks to take the initiative first.
Pros
Good benefits; Flexible work schedule
Cons
Work can be very stressful when it comes to shifting priorities and hard deadlines.
Advice to Senior Management
-Get rid of the dead weight (too many people who been there 15+ years; just hanging around for pension).
-Hire more bright, young/mid level people who want to make a difference.
-Too many silos in the company from business units, location (Atlanta, Richmond, Orlando), etc. -Need to somehow bring together the company; especially the business and IT/delivery groups.
Pros
Easy, relaxed. Flexible with giving you time to do your own thigs. Few good perks like accounts etc.
Great new office space
Cons
Poor leadrship, big talk about advancement but the hr staff is very lax and doesnt return emails to employees, great place if you have low expectations,
Advice to Senior Management
Dont expect leadership or growth to be a strong point. Its a great place if your relaxed and dont mine occassional overtime without pay
Pros
A rather relaxed work environment
Decent office buildings and food court
Most people work only 8am to 5pm schedule, minimal overtime
Cons
Management is old school
Work place is political
Employees are not the brightest
Very limited employee development process in place
Advice to Senior Management
Change up senior mid and low management
Increase compensation to stay competitive
Invest in employwee development and reward talented employees
Pros
salary and benefits are awesome......good work life balance---polished environment --perception of highly professional employees
Cons
constant restructuring creates sense of instability and lack of leadership focus; lack of accountability (consistently) accross mgmt teams
Pros
A large company with many different paths to take in the financial services arena and the rank and file are solid folks and enjoyed the many relationships developed over the years.
Cons
Strategic decisions are made in isolation and communication is poor from upper management team. Too many solid people come and go as opportunities are limited vertically and technology among the worst in the industry and they are aware of it but do nothing about it.
Pros
A solid company with a long history dating back to the late 19th-century. Excellent benefits package.
Cons
Too many internal mergers that interfere with tracking and measuring productivity for enterprise technology.
Advice to Senior Management
Ask your employees on the front lines for their candid observations before making decisions.
Pros
I enjoy the people. We get along well and support my career goals. They also support a great work life balance.
Cons
Compensation could be better and the bonuses are ok. There are limited career growth opportunities, but overall, it is a strong employer.
Advice to Senior Management
Provide employees with higher compensation and more opportunities for advancement. Keep up the good work and return TARP as soon as possible.
Pros
Suntrust is a good company to work for. It has lots of growth available and the clients love use.
Cons
I feel compare to other banks SunTrust need to pay a little better than what they pay now
Pros
Certain managers did fight for your best interest even if they couldnt always get what you wanted, i.e. more money, they'd fight for more time off.
Cons
Information was not always shared as freely, departments were way too silo-ed and often aimed to meet their goals as opposed to the overall goal of a project/or the company as a whole. Too much inter-departmental fighting and blame-passing. Very little if any career advancement for those trying to move upwards.
