I have been working at SunTrust full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The company has great benefits. There is opportunity to move up if you're willing to relocate

    Cons

I was in three different departments that were downsized. The company is becoming leaner, outsourcing, and eliminating redundancies, They may be preparing for a merge.

I have been working at SunTrust full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

About the only good thing I can say is we have Sundays off.

    Cons

No stability, "flavor of the month" business plan, everything is about sales. Hundreds of jobs were sent to the Philippines, and more are headed there. No advancement opportunities. The top hogs are getting fat by slaughtering the front line employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    treat your people better

I worked at SunTrust full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The benefits were excellent. There were many opportunities to make extra cash or increase your pay. The coaching was invaluable.

    Cons

There was not always a good work/life balance working in a call center. The schedules were not the best.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Create better work schedules. Continue being supportive.

I worked at SunTrust full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

I had a very good group of co-workers, that got things done sometimes despite the environment.

    Cons

Operations and other backroom groups seemed to be in constant reorganization mode, which led to having to constantly relearn how the structure worked to get things done.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do more to keep your experienced staff engaged and working in areas where they have expertise. Constant reorganizations and staff reductions with associated outsourcing are bad for morale.

I have been working at SunTrust full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    -Great team atmosphere
    -Ok starting salary
    -Excellent benefits package and 401k
-Best part is your work does not leave the work place. I have never had a job that once I walk out of the work place, I do not have finish, emails to check, or deadlines to worry about.

    Cons

-New sales point system is odd and hard to figure out
-You have to refer certain services to teammates (investments), and relay on them to close or offer the best solution
-Old sales and service structure was way better and provided teammates more bonus incentives

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Change back your licensed banker program to the old model, and inturn allow bankers do what is best for the client and put more wages back in their pocket.

I have been working at SunTrust full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Technology and software have come a long way in the last 12 months, making the job easier.

    Cons

Pay plan is more confusing than ever. Seems like there is always something that can happen and cause you to not make commission. Too many things factor into pay pan that are outside of my control.
Being told to turn away business and clients that are not profitable to the bank. That is not client first.
Too may software outages. Makes it impossible to help clients.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Go back to the old pay plan. This one is too confusing and makes commission hard to attain.

    Pros

    Company Values and team togetherness

    Cons

Industry is always changing which can make job difficult. Lack of promoting from with in.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promote from within. In this industry you are always worth more to bank across the street than you are the one you work for.
