    Pros

Short commute and talented team members who fight to do their best despite incompetent managers Made some great friendships that I will maintain

    Cons

This is one of the most self- serving management team I've ever seen. It's all about who you know not skill set. Lots of idiots at the top. Throwing people under the bus for self- grandisement is the theme.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn how to lead and truly care about your employees.

I worked at SunTrust full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Good benefits and perks - 401K match, vacation time, bank products. Opportunities for movement/advancement internally. Open door policy for management communications.

    Cons

Constant change, which is a con for some people. If you aren't flexible or open to changes in policy, procedures, organization, management, etc., then this company is not for you.
It seems that management goes for the 'quick fixes' that last only long enough for them to reap the benefits, then they move on to bigger and better and leave the employees to deal with yet another change implemented by new management. But, such it is in all of corporate America.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focusing on employee retention and morale will do more for the bottom line than all of the expense reductions and 'transformations'. Value the employees and put retention incentives in place that are more than a check box on this years corporate goals.

I worked at SunTrust full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Benefits are okay, but definitely not top tier.

    Cons

Constant changes in upper management. Multiple layoffs in the last two years. Technology is grossly inadequate, they are years behind their biggest competitors and will likely never catch up. They do not like to make investments in technological infrastructure. The performance review process is excruciatingly annoying and unnecessary. Be cautious because it's very easy to get stuck in a dead end job at this company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stay comfortable and enjoy it while it lasts.

I have been working at SunTrust full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great environment for conservative individuals. Great if you are just starting a career and want a taste of corporate culture.

    Cons

Hard to navigate barriers unless you have guidance from within.
    No diverse executive leadership.
Incentive is to keep high-value teammates at low cost (less pay, more work).
Technology and business units have gaps that are apparent during delivery.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus should be on "advancing the business to meet the needs of today's customers before it is too late and the cost is too high".

I have been working at SunTrust full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Reasonable compensation in the Atlanta market. Good basic benefits If you are motivated to learn about financial institutions, they make opportunities for self-starters to learn and grow. Hard work is recognized. New ideas can be shared.

    Cons

Cost cutting usually means cutting staff. Technology platforms are not up to date. Conservative, hierarchical chain of command in leadership.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Process improvements are critical in order to make outsourcing successful. Outsourcing bad processes is foolish and costly.
