    Pros

A broad range do opportunities exist, allowing you to grow and gain exposure to multiple areas of the business

    Cons

Political environment and challenges delivering or committing to a long term plan. Lots of knee jerk reactions by management that create a tense experience.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Establish a plan, and stick with it. Clarify roles across leadership and figure out how to deliver.

    Pros

Tuition reimbursement, discount banking, decent health care, onsite doctor, productive mobility, and great work life balance.

    Cons

Out of touch managers. They don't know what all of their employees do. Some are close minded and closed ears and just out right dont listen. You have to pay for parking up to $145 a month. Years behind on technology. Stipping people of the tools needed to do your everyday job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you want to follow the big banks act like one. Let all in on the new tools and technology.

    Pros

I enjoyed my experience there and was trained pretty well in the various departments I worked in. Great benefits, great people and did not mind going to work every day.

    Cons

Was quite challenging when you're told that new things are coming, more to learn but yet it never came around if you were one to want to stay in a department.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have dealt with professional management most of my years at SunTrust, I cannot say with my last few years when the manager lets his team literally get up and go at anytime secretly over and over again.

Current Employee - Senior Counsel in Atlanta, GA

    Pros

Work is high quality and interesting. Management in the department is relatively hands off allowing the attorneys to develop their own practices and responsibilities. Clients are knowledgeable and reasonable to work with and appreciate the advice and support.

    Cons

The bureaucracy can be challenging at times, especially when you need to coordinate with a number of different teams on a project. Communication from management could be better. Compensation and benefits have declined since the recession.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

View employees more as an investment rather than a cost.
