Pros
Amazing benefits, six weeks vacation, opportunity to relocate
Cons
Complacent culture, random job promotions, disorganized
Advice to Senior Management
Start putting career paths in place and giving people control over their own careers
Pros
Generous vacation package and personal days
Stable industry with long term growth opportunities
Attractive Annual incentive bonus 20 per cent salary
Cons
Too many employees promoted based on personal branding and networking vs actual work
Rigid systems and processes makes it a frustrating work environment
Advice to Senior Management
Recruiting too many people that just want to be future leaders vs actually want to do the work. Promotions based on personal branding perpetuates issue.
Pros
Pay and benefits
great office
nice cafeteria
Cons
Too many top management needs to be cleaned up
Advice to Senior Management
Stop trying to cut corners and think of other places beside the oilsands
Pros
nice company to work in, company provides transportation. high salary. PTO days. Quite for living if you dont live in downtown.
Cons
city is too cold in winter. public safety is bad. do not recommend to go to downtown area after work. Some danger may happen if you work uncarefully.
Advice to Senior Management
try to reduce some pollution. Tailing water and tailing sand are the major problem in the city. Really hope somebody can do something to the environment there.
Pros
good money for entry level
Cons
The work environment is very political
Pros
Top line oil and gas in Canada
Cons
Too big in dealing with some detials
Pros
Interesting work. Opportunity to learn new things.
Cons
Management allows bullying of their employees by their favourites.
HR policies not supported. If you complain to HR they just give you hush money and kick you out the door. The old boys network plays by their own rules and doesn't follow the HR policies or procedures.
Advice to Senior Management
Start walking the talk and get rid of any manager that doesn't buy into and demonstrate your corporate values, mission statement and HR policies.
Pros
Work / Life balance is supported by all levels of management. Career planning and progression offer many opportunities for those who wish to move within the company.
Cons
Very dynamic work environment with competing/changing priorities more the norm than the exception. Very large company with normal large company policies and processes that can seem onerous at times when trying to work towards deadlines.
Pros
great responsibilities
management team is generally very approachable
working environment is very social and comfortable
employees are very friendly and helpful
Cons
Their evaluation really depends on what is the type of person of your boss and your relationship with them when you work there
Advice to Senior Management
They should provide more well rounded evaluation (ex. peer, management, subordinates), train their new supervisors on how to train and help develop potential future employees.
Pros
Good salary compensation was provided.
Cons
Very poor focus on training and career development.
Advice to Senior Management
Need to review some of lower level management.
