Fun job if you are outgoing
you are self directed
Cons – some store staff can be unfriendly/unhelpful
you have to keep track of your own taxes as it's a 1099 job.

Current Employee – been working at Sunflower Staffing part-time for more than 3 years
Pros – This company does pay better than other food demonstrators in he area. The work is very sparse so you can't count on a regular income.
Cons – You need to check out your product 10 minutes early and they are very strict about not checking out a minute earlier than that so all the staff is standing around at the check registers. You have to get there earlier to find your product, get your chef's coat, etc. Also when you are on the wine demos they have you work till 7:15 and then go and pick up, put your wine away, etc. There is no way you can clean up and put your table away in 15 minutes. So technically they are getting an extra 30-40 minutes out of every worker in the company.
Advice to Senior Management – Don't be so strict about check in times so it doesn't create a problem for the store employees. And the demonstrators should always be allowed to stop 1/2 hour before the ending time to give enough time to wash up, put appliances away and all their utensils, gloves, etc and clean off their tables.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

Current Employee – been working at Sunflower Staffing as a contractor for less than a year
Pros – Coworkers are helpful.
You meet some interesting people sometimes.
Changes in the company require stores to supply equipment such as skillets, extension cords, etc. for all store demonstrations.
Cons – Coordinators will call at inappropriate times.
Dealing with rude and apathetic customers.
Very limited choice of working opportunities.
Not all stores have equipment required for staffing events so you have to buy or borrow the equipment you need. (Skillets, coffee maker, etc.)
Due to the change made by the company requiring all stores to carry the basic set of kitchen appliances, this means that the independent contractors no longer receive compensation for bringing their own equipment.
You are provided with flimsy cardboard tables that are cumbersome to carry.
Auditors constantly watch you and their feedback is black and white. Either you did it right or you did it wrong. There is no happy medium for them. Coordinators never have anything positive or constructive to say and constantly bring up the negative feedback from the auditors.
Poor communication for a company that does not lead by example.
Advice to Senior Management – You need to be aware of what it is really like to work at a demonstration and a shopper has no interest in what you have to say when they only care about getting a free sample of something.
Your auditors don't always get the facts straight when they are not the ones behind the table interacting with a shopper. Get both sides of the story before you jump to conclusions. It makes for better communication between workers, which is important.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Pros – pay is good

not boring
different stores to work in
can get called in on an off day and make extra money
corrdinator very understanding and always answers questions
if they arent available when you call them they will call back asap
Cons – no compensation for travel
not always going to be able to work
customers not always interested in taking samples some are even rude
business can be slow at times
Advice to Senior Management – I have no problem with management besides waiting until the last minute to contact workers about missing paperwork.
