    Pros

Talking to people is something I really enjoy doing. At Sungevity they pay me to talk! Excellent base pay with bonus incentives on generating leads.

    Cons

I am really having a hard time coming up with cons. If you don't have thick skin this is not the job for you. Some people will not appreciate you trying to inform them on the benefits of alternative energies.

    Advice to Management

Management is great! It is an all around great company to work for and I wouldn't have it any other way

    Pros

Fantastic people working toward a worthy cause. You'll struggle to find a better mix of intelligence and friendliness. I found questions were always welcome and people truly looked to help each other however they could regardless of department or role.

    Cons

Growing quickly presents challenges that some may not find appealing but even this won't be a negative for most people/roles

    Advice to Management

    Inspiring company

    Pros

    - Great mission
    - Flexible work environment
    - Location is beautiful, and easily accessible
    - Really good benefits
    - There are a lot of really good people who work here, you'll make friends and have relationships outside of the office.

    Cons

    - Lacks direction, direction is unclear
    - Weak management
    - Rampant favoritism
    - Poor communication
    - Micromanagement
    - Too corporate, tons of red tape

    Advice to Management

Figure out what direction departments are going, then share it with the rest of us. Stop rewarding mediocrity. Promote for skill and experience. Great companies are never built on nepotism.

    Pros

Original Compensation plan was fantastic. Company really does possess a lot of high-quality individuals and people who really care about the world and have a passion for solar energy and for their customers.

    Cons

Upper management, particularly from the Sales perspective, do not fit the mold described above. The company is growing quickly, and attempting to emulate the subprime mortgage industry. As a result, many of the employees are becoming overworked, over-stressed, and in constant fear of layoff for new talent. A lot of kool-aid to be drank about the company's strength, yet the company seems to always be "right about to get its next big round of funding."

    Advice to Management

Chill out. The company works so hard to tell you how great it is to be there, yet provides minimal assistance and seems to be trending toward treating its employees as expendable commodities.

    Pros

We're a bunch of smart, passionate people who have a lot of fun while at work. The start up culture keeps you engaged and the industry is booming which makes it fun to see how your work has a direct result.

    Cons

Departments don't communicate well with each other but that's the nature of a start up I suppose.

    Advice to Management

Don't let our desire to maintain/spread our culture interfere with scaling the business.

    Pros

I loved working here so much! The people were so passionate and fun! Everyone really wants to help the world. A young company in terms of people's age, a lot of people in their late 20's which was awesome! The benefits are amazing, and management is outstanding. They listen to you and if you ask enough you get opportunities to act on your ideas. Management is VERY open to ideas.

    Cons

Long work hours as a solar consultant, but I knew that going in, they were very upfront about the hours. For the money you make it's very worth it. However after a few years you can get tired which is what happened to me.

    Advice to Management

Management is great! It's hard for me to think of something, maybe making training sales more consistent, feels like we are left to our own devices after the initial training, which is fine, however I think continual training on skills would be a good thing.
