    Pros

    - Great mission with co-founders and top-level management who truly care about the positive impact this company's making - Competitive salary, full benefits, positive culture, plus perks - Most managers are receptive to hearing what their direct reports have to say - If you're hard-working and smart, there's opportunity for advancement within the company as it grows - Lots of smart, friendly people who care about the work they're doing - Management is relatively transparent and strives to keep their employees updated on initiatives and company progress - The market potential of this industry is huge

    Cons

    - Some employees complain about the frequent changes, but this is a growth-stage company that requires iteration. If you're not comfortable rolling with the punches, this probably isn't the place for you. - There's a lot of silo-ing among teams/departments. People are more focused on getting things off of their desks, when they should be encouraged to think about how their actions (or lack thereof) impact other teams. It causes a lot of unnecessary double-work and inefficiency. More cross-departmental meetings/gatherings need to happen to keep people in the loop and make them comfortable enough to walk up to each other to discuss problems directly.

    Advice to Management

    - Keep hiring smart, passionate people - Help employees figure out what their best path for advancement is. I've heard several instances of HR discouraging employees from moving around, which is really shocking. The best companies retain talent by allowing smart people to grow their careers there. At the same time, don't keep people just for the sake of seniority if they're no longer contributing. - Do more to engage employees. Give them the opportunity to work on extra projects and contribute ideas. Otherwise, they're most likely going to get bored and disengage. In such a big company, roles are increasingly specialized and therefore monotonous. - Please get more software resources if possible

    Pros

Fun employees, team-oriented environment for a corporation. B Corp status means they care about more than just the bottom-line. Room for creativity.

    Cons

High goals means lots of pressure. Employees were pushed hard to generate leads and sales. Lots of turnover means team was always changing.

    Pros

There are great people at this company, and the business model concept is a good one. When homeowners are ready to "order" solar, Sungevity should win.

    Cons

Change is frequent and poorly managed. Things too often seem to not be thought out, pushed through without preparation, and then you forever feel in catch up / damage control mode. Because of this, the business model fails to deliver on its promise of providing an easy, impressive experience for the client.

    Advice to Management

Provide a clear path for advancement. Improve the balance of hiring from within and bringing in outside help. Help the software team be as good as the can be to capitalize on the opportunity to be the tech leader in the solar space.

I have been working at Sungevity full-time

    Pros

There are a lot of great people who work here and the work environment is fairly laid back.

    Cons

There is a lack of interdepartmental communication which leads to a number of inefficiencies and questionable decisions.

    Advice to Management

Encourage cross department training and take more feedback from team leads and managers.

    Pros

There seems to be consensus that Sungevity is a holistic company that looks to improve everyone's lives and many at the company seem to be devoted to this mission and embrace environmental leanings more so than at other solar companies focused solely on profit

    Cons

Not much integration between company mission and leadership values, many sales people driven to feel like they are under-appreciated and treated like other less expertise-driven industries

    Advice to Management

Try to take in more opinions from employees and spread to marketing, involve less meaningless rotations of promotions and money give-away's for more meaningful help

    Pros

    Great people to work with

    Cons

Company changing quickly and the roles are narrowed down, less ownership of technical details.

    Advice to Management

Don't pass over your long term employees, they have seen the company through thick and thin.

    Pros

Sungevity has a great mission, and people believe in it passionately. There are a lot of terrific people who work very hard. Good products, real concern for quality and customer experience. The workplace is pleasant and the food is good.

    Cons

Executives fight over turf, and often go off in their own directions. Priorities change every few weeks. Important projects are canceled midstream. Management seems to listen to the loudest voices, not the most knowledgeable or creative ones. Competent people are laid off if they are too vocal. HR is clueless.

    Advice to Management

Get a senior executive who will manage the organization more effectively. Find department heads who know how to think strategically and work together. I want Sungevity to succeed!

    Pros

Great Co-workers, Managers are transparent, always willing to coach and develop. Open to investigating changes in the system if they will benefit others. Everyone has an extremely positive outlook on the business.

    Cons

You can be as successful as you want, and that means this isn't a 40 work week.

    Advice to Management

    Keep growing and cultivating talent.

    Cons

Tedious, poor long term business model, horrible on boarding process.

    Pros

    - Co-workers and supervisors of the sales team are very nice and supportive, competitive in a good way - Solar is trending, good market potential - The company offers different monthly incentives/prizes to make it fun - Actively expanding in a fast pace

    Cons

    - Since Sungevity is Lowe's solar partner, working at Lowe's may have to face unfriendly employees/managers of Lowe's - Sometimes it can be a hard sale - Weather and holidays can be factors that affect store flow rates, therefore affect your sales performance
