Sunoco intends on surviving the economic situation

Engineer (Current Employee)

I have been working at Sunoco Chemicals

ProsSunoco has been a relatively stable company in the recent past, and has diversified in chemicals. Sunoco has worked to improved the business position of the chemicals business. Sunoco has provided challenging and rewarding projects. Employees are loyal to the company, and are commited to Sunoco's strategies. Sunoco is beginning to engage employees better than in the past.

ConsThe employee population is not as ethnically diverse as some other companies. Communication within groups and between groups needs to improve, and interactions between business units need to increase. Sunoco does not provide enough opportunities for "rank and file" employees to provide input and feedback.

Advice to Senior ManagementSunoco needs to improve communications between the business units, and from upper management.

Chemicals lost its way

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

I have been working at Sunoco Chemicals

ProsOpportunities to advance are there.

ConsSunoco thought they could sell the business so they stopped trying to run it. This means a lot of the plant systems are falling apart.

Advice to Senior ManagementEither get senior managment that has a manufacturing background or sell the business

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
