Advice to Senior Management
Fire Lynn
Pros
Great pay, great people, respectable and honest work. Safe place to work in the refining industry.
Cons
Corporate greed and imports putting Americans out of good paying jobs.
Advice to Senior Management
They've heard it all by now. Think about fellow American jobs for a change.
Pros
Decent pay and average benefits/medical.
Cons
No company transparency. Dishonest upper management. No retirement health benefits.
Advice to Senior Management
Get off the sinking ship, Lynn is taking the company down. Will Sunoco survive on hot-dogs, sodas and imported gas?
Pros
Health, Vacations, Pension, Salary, Scheduling
Cons
Poor upper management no back bone
Advice to Senior Management
grow a back bone
Pros
Overall they look to provide a safe work place and put great emphasis on employee and family.
Cons
Things have changed considerly over the past few years these changes has affected many in a
not so postive way.
Advice to Senior Management
Well in these times tough decisions have to be made and not just one person is making all the calls it is just that she is the CEO and the buck stops with her. Im not sure I wouldn't have made the same decisions.
Pros
Sunoco is an adequate employer if you desire to work in Philadelphia for an engineering centric organization ...otherwise, not so much.
Cons
Low pay, incompetent or indifferent senior leadership, lack of business savvy, lack of a worthwhile vision, shrinking company, undervalued employees and assets,
Advice to Senior Management
Senior leadership and the board of directors should be fired for what they have done to Sunoco and its stock owners. They destroyed a formerly proud and worthwhile organization. It seems clear that the named executive officers' motivations are to exercise the "change in control" clause in order to walk away with multi-million dollar severance packages. Lynn: Enjoy your ~ $38 million and congratulations, you've managed to ruin a 100+ year old American company.
Pros
Good benefits, but employees are constantly reminded that management plans to eliminate some benefits in the future to save money.
Cons
Morale is extremely low and has gotten worse over the past few years. Very depressing work place.
Employees are openly looking for new jobs outside of the company, including managers telling their reportables that they want out and are looking.
Uncertainty at all times in all aspects.
Never ending lay-offs.
Employees are not valued and are told to just be happy they have a job, year after year.
Advice to Senior Management
Earn back the respect of employees.
Pros
Sunoco is a great company to work for and has a lot of long term employees that are dedciated and committed.
Cons
I would say that a major con for working at store level in my particular city is employee shortages and finding trustworthy applicants.
Advice to Senior Management
I think you guys would get better applicants for CSR's and management if your starting salary were closer to your competive companies and your turn over rates would be lower.
Pros
Good benefits are provided to employees that include health benefits 401k plans education reimbursement employee assistance and a good group of employee networks
Cons
Great company in a period of change that comes from the economy and the industry conditions. People are working hard to more with less, but that is not unique to Sunoco
Pros
You can keep the same job forever
Cons
Dead-end career wise. Refinery managers are very concerned about themselves and have no regard for those who work for them.
Advice to Senior Management
Promote people, if not with money, then with responsibility
