    Pros

Good people, good work life balance, getting stronger on connecting the company to the patient and not being purely an organization focused on money.

    Cons

After being purchased by DSP, lots of change in the organization. DSP was still learning how to do business in the US.

    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

This was overall a solid company to work for with excellent training and benefits. It was easy to move about (from position to position) within the organization as compared to the hoops other companies have in place to discourage this.

    Cons

Like most pharmaceutical companies, the company changed several times in different directions. Change in and of itself isn't bad, but the culture was lost along the way.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Create a lasting culture that can withstand constant pharma changes.

    Pros

Great benefits, year-end shutdown, summer hours.

    Cons

No transparency. Little communication. Constant layoffs. Toxic atmosphere.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn to deal with stress more constructively. Offer real direction to employees. "Business as Usual" doesn't mean much. Clearer expectations and goals.

    Pros

Former Employee - Pharmaceutical Sales Specialist II  in  Sacramento, CA
Former Employee - Pharmaceutical Sales Specialist II in Sacramento, CA

    Pros

There are so many benefits to the freedom of pharmaceutical sales. Salary is good, used to be better. Company car, not the freedom to manage your business, but at least you get to do by yourself the majority of the time. You aren't stuck behind a desk all day....just at night when you are submitting 1000 reports

    Cons

There are so many restrictions in pharmaceutical sales. HIPAA, budgets, call counts, sample compliance, time stamping, forced sales presentations have all contributed to the downfall of this once great industry.
