    Pros

The job opportunity. Caring for seniors and knowing you are making a difference in their live. Sunrise offers great training opportunities and some room for growth.

    Cons

Lots of politics and work load is too overwhelming. Terminates easily.

I have been working at Sunrise Senior Living full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The best thing about this job is the great relationships created between team members and the residents.

    Cons

This is a large company that doesn't value their employees. Their main goal is sales. When they first hire you they tell you their is plenty room for advancement which is a lie. Always short staffed and employees are over worked.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Things would be much better if the care managers were more appreciated. The lack of value Sunrise show to its employees is the main reason they have to constantly hire new people. The only people who advanced and can honestly make a living with this company are the coordinators and corporate staff.

    Pros

You will make great connections with the residence.

    Cons

Co-workers are hard to work with at at times. Care managers are expected to do alot but with very little pay. Only a stepping stone place. No where to work more than 2 years

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your care managers and make them feel appreciated. PLEASE PLEASE hire people who are have excellent team work skills.

    Pros

Their mission statement "looks" nice in their environment. The residents are great and getting to know them is awesome. It stops there.

    Cons

to see the true nature of people one should look at how they treat their own family. In this case, the way this company treats its employees is horrible. Low pay, very expensive benefits and hypocritical leadership. How can they be a "champion" for the residents and treat their employees the way they do? I would not trust this organization.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get back to treating employees with respect and professionalism. Paul and Terry treated us right. This has gone downhill since they left. You are just another choice of poor providers without living your values with the employees. Don't let your mission go to waste.

I have been working at Sunrise Senior Living full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

The great things about this company is the atmosphere. It provides a very homey feeling for both residents and employees. I love the activities they have for the residents and the all house events as well.

    Cons

I really don't understand why full time employees don't get a full 80 hour paycheck. It takes a long time for things to get done and privacy for residents and staff should be enforced more.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take care of your employees better. We work too hard.
