I have been working at Sunstates Security full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A growing Security company that offers great management support. I have been a Site Manager at 2 locations (in North Carolina & Florida) and the support from the Operations Managers, Branch Managers, VP and all the way up to President Glenn Burrell has been a tremendous asset to my career. I look forward to a great future with Sunstates Security.

    Cons

I have no "cons" to report!

    Advice to Management

I worked at Sunstates Security (Less than a year)

    Pros

I feel the general pros are: great opportunity in advancement (if security work is your thing), online training is wonderful, pay is good depending on how much work you choose to give yourself, you get whatever clothes you need/want for $250 and you hardly notice the $30 deductible every paycheck and you get a lot of chances to work overtime

    Cons

Cons in no particular order: almost every single officer (aside from a few) hates their job, a lot of people call out unexpectedly and that means you get to stay over until whoever relieves you gets around to actually showing up, site supervisors are super relaxed and let most employers get away with murder, rushed 24 hour training, you either get lots and lots of exercise from all the walking you do or gain weight from sitting on your bum the entire time.... it's not glamorous, exciting nor is it as prestigious as the company makes themselves sound.... tons of mismanagement

    Advice to Management

My advice is to stop the trickle down rules - the district manager will meet with the site supervisors who will nitpick over a few things then it is handed down to the employers, there are binders full of these "rules". I suggest meeting with individual employees with the supervisors for more than just rewarding or punishing, getting everyone excited about doing their job and lengthening the time of training. Fast-food restaurants usually require a week of training

I have been working at Sunstates Security full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Sunstates Security is an employee driven company. The organization realizes the need to take care of its employees with adequate pay, benefits, incentives, training & education and rewards. So many competitors in the security industry fall short when it comes to supporting the employees, whereas Sunstates Security excels!

    Cons

With the consistent company growth that Sunstates Security has experienced over the last 5 years, the push for more job seekers to start applying with Sunstates is needed.

    Advice to Management

Continue to support all of your employees - from the Branch Offices to the Field!

I worked at Sunstates Security full-time

    Pros

You receive your paycheck every other Friday. There isn't any management presence, very low expectation of performance, next to impossible to get fired.

    Cons

They have zero concern for their employees or their clients. They only want their money, just like the majority of security companies only different name and logo.

    Advice to Management

Fire everyone and start over with capable and competent people.

I worked at Sunstates Security (Less than a year)

    Pros

Get paid on pay day's, usually without mistakes and if a mistake it will get fixed eventually. Benefits don't start until 180 days after starting and if you don't track it, to bad for you!

    Cons

Never receive uniform allotment unless you keep asking, then you'll get dumped on a different scheduled than you were first on.

    Advice to Management

Look closely at local managements over time ratios
