I have been working at Super Micro Computer, Inc. (Supermicro) full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

The health insurance is good, the company is in a good position to grow, the jobs are stable, and it's a good place to learn about servers.

    Cons

The wages are relatively low and there are no bonuses. Also the people here all operate on not telling each other information because no one trusts each other. I have never worked at such an unfulfilling job before.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Everyone needs to become more transparent and trusting, the lack of trust in anyone has created a very negative culture that has resulted in the company's high turnover rate.

    No opinion of CEO

    Cons

Silo organization you need to be mentally tough and skillful enough and a hands on self starter to achieve/drive your business goal. Do not expect the team or your managements will help you to achieve your goal. You must drive and execute it and prove to them yourself.

You are on your own and be humble

I have been working at Super Micro Computer, Inc. (Supermicro) full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Free breakfast, and free supper if you stay beyond 7:30pm.
The CEO is very smart and has the intuition toward computer technology and the chief architect for all products. He . makes all decisions big or small. Without him, the company will come to a halt in no time.
No need to worry about job security.

    Cons

No management at all. The company grew from small to this big and the management team are the old people who do not know how to manage. They all just follow the eyes of the CEO and want to know what is in his mind and where he attention is.
Company treat a few old employees as treasure despite incapability, give power to manage and good compensation..

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Good pay to the few old incapable employees show the CEO has deep feeling towards their past contribution. but giving the management power will do company more harm than good, their inability to management causes company loss and many people just relax and stay without doing anything, which in turn harm all employees' enthusiasm to contribute and cause low spirit and attitude towards work.
