I worked at Superior Well Services full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good place to learn about oil and gas experience.

    Cons

Some engineers get treated horribly where they working with rough necks 24/7 for months then realize that they are not trained up enough to do their real job. While some get VIP treatment and do no anything, where they could be doing the same work as the ones that are working in the field but get paid more.

    Advice to Management

Hire engineers with engineering degree not just high school with oil and gas or engineering experience, not all engineers hired should be on the same track of training.

    Cons

Sorry Managment. Worthless feedback. Absolutely no feedback. Pitiful and poor communication. Total disregard for personal life and activities. No understanding for life outside the job. No regard for hard work and dedication. Zero input from the boss

    Pros

Good pay in this specific camp compared to other companies in the area and good pay compared to other superior location throughtout the US.

    Cons

Equiptment is in horrible condition. There are to many people who want to be the "boss" but no one want to actually step up and make things happen. People at this location believe in the buddy system and promote from within that system. Supervisors are more worried about mainkg their charts look good by messing with efficienties and other tunning options as opposed to making the necessary repairs and changes to actually complete the job as designed

    Advice to Management

Get feedback from the Equiptment Operators, Mechanics and Electronics Technicians about the actual workings on location. There are many things that go on out on location and many of the people are given credit for other peoples work because of the buddy system with supervisors

    Pros

Fair amount of autonomy. Some in management are extremely intelligent. Good bond among peers in shop. Pay is generally competitive. If you want extra hours, there are usually plenty available.

    Cons

Management not good at managing. Extensive practice of upper level management micro-managing random portions of the business, which often leads to two bosses telling you two different things. Little to no loyalty to employees. Often has mentality of "spending $10 to save $1."
