Prosleadership is sincere and dedicated, hard working and has a commitment to the employees even during difficult times.

Conschallenging times to turn company around creates stresses that no all respond well to.

Advice to Senior Managementkeep focus on strategic and transformation, progress is being made. keep focus on customers and long term relationships not just short term results

    ProsGreat Training
    Positive Management
A Needed Service for our clients

ConsHard to balance life priorities and continued employee training.
Greater interaction with loyal customers needed.

Advice to Senior ManagementWhen I was hired in 1989 at GTE Directories they said the yellow pages was the cash cow to fund new technology. While extreme competition for the always evolving new technologies can be intimidating; communication and appreciation for the tool and access in every home that yellow pages offer is priceless. Tools with the training to use them seamlessly is essential to the success of our/your clients.

    Awesome

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsGreat management. Good environment. Unlimited earning potential. Internet products are cutting edge. Print is not dead. Still a viable advertising medium in both rural and urban markets.

ConsNegative attitudes. Must be personally driven. Union is both positive and negative. Some negative reinforcement / management with performance reporting.

Advice to Senior ManagementThey do a great job. Differing management styles between leadership is interesting. They support their people very well. Promotion from within

Upper management is very humane and motivating, it is a challenging career for those who like to focus.

    Premise Media Consultant (Current Employee)

ProsThey are always working to be the leaders in the industry. They are always changing for the good of customers; and to provide a superior product. Those who cannot keep up with change do belong in this industry. Change is necessary.

ConsTravel is hard for those with children. Travel is necessary to succeed.

Advice to Senior ManagementI no longer work for super media due to the necessity to travel, but I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this company. They have outstanding upper management.

Supermedia is in an extremely fast transition from an only yp advitiser to an everything you can think of advertiser

    Premise Media Consultant (Current Employee)

ProsContinuously creating new ways of competing in the marketing industry. Apple apps, direct mail, yellow pages with new map location adds and a huge search engine for local searches.

ConsLive to work not work to live seems to be their Moto for the premise position. It is probably the reason why we get paid well, however, it hard to enjoy the money if you are working all the time.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep us updated more often on upcoming ideas. Please become more visible to your employees. We want to see the leadership not just during press releases.

Satisfaction in assisting small businesses grow via appropriate advertising products with good ROI

    Media Consultant (Current Employee)

ProsPhenominal 3rd party research and data to prove value
Reasonable variety of print and online products, traditional and internet
    Talented local management
Great benefits: health care, vacation, 401K
    Excellant training
Appropriate tools to perform the job
SuperMedia differentiators: Share the Wealth, Super Guarantee
Client incentives: Welcome Back, Bundled Products, ROI, and others

ConsIt is difficult to schedule a sales call since clients are skeptical as to who is contacting them due to numerous competitive, yellow page, advertising companies, as well as being bombarded with everyone in the advertising industry wanting their business and the doom and gloom of the economy in general. Who is real? Who has a product that will work for me?
Time consuming pre and post sale paperwork/computer work.
Unfortunate history since Verizon spin-off effected by economy, sharing the market with the internet,
    past management.

Advice to Senior ManagementGet back to LOCAL, REGIONAL sales award celebrations, family picnics, incentive trips.
This builds unity, provides incentive, developes a real team, commaradery with each other and
the company. Everyone who earns the opportunity participates, not just top performer in a channel.
Be consistent with compensation as you keep company afloat: terminate non performers versus
reducing income (changing pay plan) for good performers who have FIXED expenses based on past pay plan.
Trust your MCs who have proven themselves and cut the leash.
Eliminate unecessay meetings, huddles, tracking....you are wasting sales time. A good MC
    has an agenda to succeed.
