I worked at Supplemental Health Care full-time

    Pros

Very friendly office staff in the local branch. But they are very cliquish...You sit out in the open floor and everyone can hear your convos.

    Cons

Smaller company, no real growth opportunity. But they are a really nice group of people. But nice is not going to cut it.

    Advice to Management

    NA

I worked at Supplemental Health Care full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Industry leader, progressive policies for clinical staff that is contracted out to hospitals

    Cons

When I worked here, pay was very low, incentives were minimal, management was inexperienced/unqualified. Promotions given based upon interpersonal relationships, not upon experience or qualifications. Managers lack minimum education requirements.

    Advice to Management

Walk the talk. Live up to the much touted "core values".

    Pros

Decent bonus and benefits. Great company trip incentive.

    Cons

Too much travel, not much room for growth, forced to keep poor performers, no time off.

    Advice to Management

Most have been with the company 10+ years. This is good and bad. Yes, you have tenure but only one perspective on how to meet goals. Work on succession. If a manager continues to have terrible feedback from staff and HR complaints stop supporting the manager.

I worked at Supplemental Health Care (Less than a year)

    Pros

They provide great training for office staff.

    Cons

After the aggressive training, the pressure is ON to perform and deliver. And if you do not deliver, they are quick to down size and move you out asap in no time.

    Advice to Management

It takes time for recruiters and staffing managers to establish a "book of business", be a little patient for placements. Placements are controlled by the candidate and the client, recruiters can only recommend and make the match. But not all will accept the work because the agency pay is not comparable to the hospitals direct hire and pay.
