    Most fun I ever had

    Cashier (Former Employee)
    Saint Louis, MO

ProsCustomers are happy when they shop here so it makes your job easy. It's like hosting an event every day. Products are of the highest quality, extensive variety, latest innovations, and the employee discount is great.

Consstandard retail work, busy season is October through January. Pay is low. no opportunity to move up. little interest in local marketing.

Advice to Senior ManagementSend your employees catalogs, they are some of your best customers and they can learn about the product on their own time. Involve your employees in marketing innovations, especially since they are part timers they have access to networks outside your stores. Even an employee suggestion system might uncover some great ideas.

From seasonal to corporate in less than a year

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
    Seattle, WA

ProsThe opportunity to climb through the ranks is present, if you're willing to work hard and put yourself out there. A lot of people in the corporate office started as store employees, and through hard work and dedication, made it to corporate positions. The corporate environment is relaxed, execs and upper-level management are easy to talk to and always available, and there's always tons of perks, like food, samples, products, parties, etc.

ConsIt's a lot of work, but that should be understood. It's a relatively fledgling company compared to others, so expect to take a lot on. At the store level, understand that yes, you will be rushed. Yes, there will be pushing and coaching to make sales. After all, it is a retail company.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep the lines of communication open and make sure that employees know they're appreciated, and that upward mobility is a possibility.

    Nice place to work

    Assistant Manager (Current Employee)
    Phoenix, AZ

ProsGood benefits for full time employees, nice bonus plan, paid vacation time, sick and personal days, flexible schedules, good tools to get the job done, great discounts

ConsThe plan isn't always shared till it's in action so then you have to recover and adapt to the new plan, but it's like that in most companies

Advice to Senior Managementmake internal promotions easier, outside the company there are good people but the ones in the company are the ones who make you look great and deserve the chance to achieve a better position
