    Pros

    Company growing fast and management is very smart and company is in very good hands.

    Cons

    Difficult to balance work and personal life here. Salaries are low but stock/bonus make up for it.

    Pros

    Great money, experienced IT people, friendly co-workers. Owner and his family were awesome people, I could not say enough good things about the owners. I enjoyed working on the applications given to me, the job duties were good for first IT experience.

    Cons

    Long hours, many weekends, high turn over. Can't take any vacation till after first year and then it is only for 1 week. After second year it gets better. Lots of on-call time. I have to assume the owners were not aware of what occurs in some departments. Unfortunately as in many IT first jobs there is no training. Had about 1 week of someone going through the motions of doing the work and me watching (I assume this is what happens at many companies).

    Advice to Management

    Should look into training upper management on people management. Some are great but many are lacking in basic people management 101 skills.

    Pros

    You can get full time hours... You can become a manager fairly easy

    Cons

    Hours can fluctuate, NO breaks or lunches are ever given,And you are not appreciated, The pay rate is very low for the kind of work we do.

    Advice to Management

    Start to become involved on how employees at all stripes stores are being treated . Appreciate your employees more. Raise the pay rate. Value your workers then maybe there wont be so much employee turn overs.Most people who work for stripes end up quitting cause they feel underpaid and unappreciated

    Pros

    - Good Pay - Some people are laid back

    Cons

    - Poor Management - They use you if you let them - Managers and works get to close - Unrealistic Expections - You can miss days or be late as long as you are friends with the manager - Other works are lazy - Most customers have very little patience

    Manage the store.

    Pros

    Tution Reimbursement Flexible with school schedule Can work as much or as little as you want if your a good worker

    Cons

    Bring in senior management who "knows everything," but really has no idea how the company works, Senior management belittles those below them, management is fake and holds empty promises, expects the world for minimum pay, does not reward those who work hard more than those who just clock in

    Advice to Management

    Need to make sure Divisional Managers especially in the Lubbock area are trained properly, because what I have experienced their makes me actively looking for work else where if it wasn't for the tution rembursment I would have been long gone!

    Pros

    Stock Options. Nice break area with free fountain and wide coffee selection. Corporation based out of Corpus Christi.

    Cons

    Lots of inner circles and office politics. Poor leadership. People put in management positions based on seniority over qualifications. Lots of late nights and weekend work due to poor management.

    Pros

    -Work is not too physically exerting, save for standing for entire shift -Kitchen staff is really friendly and funny -Assistant Manager is really friendly, funny, and fair -Training is paid -Always hiring as there's a high turnover rate -Weekly e-mails sent to work e-mail detailing job openings at other Stripes locations

    Cons

    -Training sucks: it is done through an iPad series of videos, text and subsequent texts. Inefficient and fails to cover the most important thing to the cashier, such as button functions, money management, receipt management, etc. -Kitchen staff is horridly overworked and underpaid -Many cashiers are lazy, rude, annoying, or any combination of the three -Upper management sets unreal and oppressive expectations of the workers, including warnings for any myriad of small things, such as not calling customers 'guests', not smiling enough, not greeting above a certain volume level, etc. -They have incognito 'mystery shoppers' that carry hidden cameras and film the cashiers and forward it to upper management who rate your performance and discipline accordingly should it not meet their standards -Cashier expected to occupy themselves at all times, but many are not trained well enough to know what and how to do any of the non-register tasks -Have to learn most of these things on your own and most coworkers are annoyed when you ask them how to do said things -Regular drug tests, which don't bother me- but it's a bit silly that a mere gas station screens its employees for any drugs

    Advice to Management

    -Hire better employees on register side -Pay kitchen staff more as they do much more work than cashiers -Set realistic expectations for workers
