I have been working at Sutherland Global Services

    Pros

Work at home in your pajamas.

    Cons

They barely pay the minimum wage. The hours are long and the stress is not worth the pay. The callers are rude and you're expected to make "small talk" with disrespectful callers. The management staff are a joke. They're more intimidated by a professional/smart employee than impressed. Not worth the pay. I landed another work-at-home employer (that I won't name) that pays over 15.00 an hour walking in the door And they are impressed with an employee's professional status. Sutherland is a joke with a lifespan of about 5 years per employee. You'll have better stability working for Mc Donalds.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

HIre managers that are not afraid of an employee's personal status. More important, if you're going to operate in the U.S then your managers should be here..not managing from an entire different country.

    Chaotic

I have been working at Sutherland Global Services full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Good opportunity to learn what you are made of with constant changes and pressure to perform from upper management. This will increase your ability to be flexible,

    Cons

Not a very organized place. Constant change, contradictory directives and poor accountability lends itself to a lot of confusion and not much trust in the process.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Spend some time defining who you are in more than just phrases and words. Actions speak very loud and right now, because of positive words and negative actions, there is little trust between the worker and management.

I worked at Sutherland Global Services full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

I was able to meet some great people here that also started around the same time as I did, the pay was wonderful. Benefits after 90 days are a definite help.

    Cons

The software during the training often had errors and would not open, this made it difficult to learn how to do the job properly. The classrooms were too small for the amount of people that were there and made it difficult to leave or enter. When in nesting, they expected you to know everything right away and basically threw you to the wolves. They always said no question is a stupid question, but I always felt like a complete burden each time I asked for help. There was not enough face to face confrontation for learning how to do the job. Unless you can learn any thing within 10 minutes of hearing a word of every single thing, this is probably not the job for you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Not everyone learns everything within the first 10 minutes. Only being able to ask for help through a chat room and expect every person to know every short term and every little thing on the already slow, dysfunctional computers while dealing with a customer is much too stressful for a person. Improve your training layout, please.

I worked at Sutherland Global Services

    Pros

    pay was good, above average

    Cons

No proper training, lack of training and to many constant changes on a daily basis. Management did not know how to do their jobs either or how to lead their people properly.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management please learn your job and how to train people properly before you begin to train them not after you put them on the production floor and expect them to know their job if they haven't been properly trained.
