    Pros

Great benefits. Nice people to work with. Good team environment.

    Cons

When looking for other positions internally (promotions, position change), existing employees are not given preferential treatment. Must compete with everyone that applies externally.

    Pros

Ability to move up and "career search" throughout company. There are more opportunities with this company to move around and get a feel for what you want to do long term.

    Cons

This company is lacking in technological advancement, and workplace diversity.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Diversity training and awareness, leadership training opportunities should be implemented.

    Pros

Hours range from 7 to 3:30 to 10 to 6:30 M-F. Staff work in teams that are encouraged to solve problems together. Upper Management recognizes milestones and have held breakfasts, BBQ's, ice cream socials. Great Benefits.

    Cons

Some team management lead from their chair. Often staff is left to ask a fellow co-worker to solve the problem. Unless you are a favorite, it is not likely you will be chosen for a special project.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Offer special projects to all staff, this will allow all staff the chance to learn and participate in something new. Having favorites only creates problems.

Pay was excellent, safe workplace. great facilities.

    Cons

they did not honor promise to train nor allow me to complete 6 month contract as promised.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pros

Priorities are straight, patients come first.
They don't expect you to do more than you can do and give you enough time to get your work done.
All in all, great group of dedicated people.

    Cons

I have never worked anywhere else that required everyone to be a spreadsheet specialist. They live and breathe spreadsheets.
Management is tied up in meetings all morning at the least and is often unapproachable.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Meetings have taken a life of their own far over and above their usefullness.

Former Employee - Project Coordinator in San Francisco, CA

    Pros

The people who are not in management are very nice.

    Cons

I have to mirror the cons as written by someone else on this forum about their SPMF experience, "Upper management shows no appreciation of staff. Moral is very low. Communication is nonexistent. One of the worse contracts I have been on in the past 8 years.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide real leadership and get involved in your projects. I worked on the Windows 7 project as a project coordinator. A simple walk by to thank your staff for their hard work will go a long way.

Former Employee - Registered Nurse in Santa Cruz, CA

    Pros

good pay, great staff, caring nurses

    Cons

favoritism, unfair disciplining actions, no union, will fire you after 5 years of nightshift even as a single mom with a three year old for being late 3 mins or not being dressed and ready for work at exactly 2300, and breech confidentially laws, without explanation as an "at will" employer and give you only 2 days of benefits after they fire you. they say, "we + you", which is now "we minus you" . Management is always turning over, and they given per diems dayshift positions but force status nurses to work nightshift for over 5 years, then fire them when they were NEXT in line to go to days, EPIC is a nightmare for perinatal nurses and a huge FAIL. some doctors have too much clout and blame others for their own bad decisions....

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

try looking at how a hospital is run that has a good system in place. your policies are outdated. and stop being biased.

    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

Great opportunites in Sutter Health Network. The opportunity to advance is available and education is encouraged. Salary is decent when compared to other hospitals.

    Cons

The Sutter Health Network have poor networking and it's very difficult to transfer in between Sutter Hospitals.
Leadership in Sacramento Sierra region is questionable .

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The focus more on staff satisfaction than patient satisfaction scores. Unfortunately, staff satisfaction is a low priority and people tend to leave for other jobs.

Former Employee - Deposit Services in Sacramento, CA

    Pros

They provide a structured training process, reasonable pay, and benefits.

    Cons

It's hard to network within the company to obtain cross training and building multiple skills. Managers seem to have a lot of social politics that interfere with the employees advancement opportunities.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Think about the employees and their hard work and dedication, instead of who Manages them and the issues you have with that Manager.
