I worked at Swinomish Casino part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You could work your way up through the casino to any job that you wanted.

    Cons

I was a hostess and the waitresses I worked for barely tipped me out every night. For all the work I was doing for them refilling glasses, clearing tables an polishing their dishes, I should have been getting more than $1-$2 per night from each girl.

I have been working at Swinomish Casino full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Quarterly incentives, hopefully you're lucky enough to work with employees you can relate to

    Cons

Uneducated management, lack of communication, noncompetitive pay, lots of finger pointing and no repercussions, unprofessional at times, lack of trust, no room for professional growth or raises, very cliquey, lots of hourly employee turnover, huge gap between salaried management and hourly employees

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees competitive wages and you will begin to see change for the better. Develop and invest in employee growth rather than relying on turnover to fix your problems.

    Pros

In is a very nice, fun environment. working with multiple people helps with networking. with a 24,-7 job there are multiple shifts available to fit almost any schedule.

    Cons

Overall the company pays very little which generates a high turnover rate ,(100+ a year) there is a dramatic separation between floor employees and upper management.

    Advice to Management

Pay the employees a competitive wage, which will help with an increase is customer service considering it is in the "hospitality industry". employee happiness has a great affect on returning guests.

    Negative Outlook

    Pros

Working with great people makes any job worth going to

    Cons

The HR department needs more training and a real person to address issues.

    Advice to Management

I would advice this management team to get involved with guest and listen to employees concerns.
