Pros
Swiss Re is a leader in the reinsurance industry with many dedicated and knowledgeable employees. This makes working at Swiss Re interesting and provides daily opportunities to learn and grow. There is a real interest in employee development. The atmosphere is professional yet collegial providing a chance to work with a global team.
Cons
The only downside of working at Swiss Re, from my perspective, is the time it takes to make changes.
Advice to Senior Management
Continue listening to employee feedback and providing opportunities for employees.
Pros
Colleagues are for the most part technically astute, collaborative, and focused on the actions that will produce the best results for the client and the organisation.
Cons
There is an established process for everything which must be followed, regardless of the time sensitivity of the issue. There is not always a clear line to an ultimate decision maker for resolving some conflicts. Lack of diversity at EB level.
Advice to Senior Management
Continue the clearly directed focus on managing through the current financial environment. Work towards reducing bureaucracy. Actively encourage/promote more diversity at senior and EB levels.
