    Pros

The interview process was easy. Company training was great.

    Cons

They don't give enough information to new hires. They basically have us waiting around for a call to be told when to show up for work. And the pay isn't all of that, but i understand its all contractual.

    Advice to Management

Please be more accurate about the work schedules for new hires. You can't expect ppl to drop everything and come to work/training after having us wait for weeks on end. Some of us have children and other jobs to sort out.

    Pros

Great for a High School Student or an Elderly that may need additional income.

    Cons

Very low pay for the job.

    Pros

Awesome atmosphere, good place to get your foot in the door as Swissport will hire just about anybody with a flexible schedule. Ramp training is thorough. Learn about the industry.

    Cons

-Coworkers, supervisors; this is the norm anywhere you go.
-Not a livable wage ($9.18 in Alaska? I could make more flipping burgers for Carls Jr [$9.45/hr])
-UNION dues made my already depressing paychecks even smaller. Not sure if whole company or select locations; be careful and find out early.
-Employee-paid uniform deposits (returned upon resignation)
    -Employee-paid footwear
-NO benefits to part-time employees (health, vision, dental, flight)
    -Too much downtime
    -Favoritism
-Ramp agents seem to be looked down upon.

    Advice to Management

If you can, ditch the union. Increase wages, add some benefits. I left your "competitive wage" and complete lack of benefits for an airline I am much happier with for $5.91 more an hour and benefits out the wazoo. Swissport, at this time, is only a stepping stone to something greater.

    Pros

Pretty reasonable/neat job among low paying jobs.
Usually flexible in scheduling, you have to ask at the time you accept the offer.

    Cons

    Worse management.
Expects you to do a lot more than they pay for.
    Reeked with favoritism.
Only so much career progress can be made.

    Pros

Dealing with passengers and learning about the airport atmosphere. Meeting so many people and just the many different tasks that can be done.

    Cons

Management is the worst, the main reason I left. Very disrespectful and rude, when management is changed from corporate down, only then will things get better. Very disappointing.

    Advice to Management

Train and hire better management positions, otherwise your company will continue to be a revolving door.

    Pros

Full time, union, overtime is 1.5 of hourly, some paid holidays, sick pay, vacation pay, vacation time increases the longer employed.

    Cons

Hazardous, work outside 7-8hrs a day sometimes no break. Set schedule changes in seasons and based on seniority so somewhat competitive. Airline contracts so there are times when you get mandatory overtime. Have to deal with rude management, union sucks, did I mention hazardous? You work around commercial aircrafts.

    Advice to Management

Need a crash course in speaking proper English and proper communication skills.
