I have been working at Switchfast Technologies full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Open and relatively transparent operation
Constantly evolving, once you have earned senority your opinion can be impactful
Positive environment, management seems genuinely concerned with keeping it that way
Upper management is some of the best I've dealt with. CEO/CTO/HR are all top notch and seem genuinely concerned with the well-being of everyone from the top to the bottom

    Cons

Rapid changes and expansion have, as others have mentioned, led to some questionable hires/placement
Reactive staffing has led to imbalanced workloads (saw this in another review and agree wholeheartedly)
Also as a result of the rapid growth/expansion/evolution, processes often change faster then they can be completely implemented leading to poorly defined/communicated directives
Benefits seem to be slowly whittling away - PTO policy changing to be more restrictive as well as losing a day in the upcoming year, 401k plan becoming less attractive, health premiums going up (although that's not entirely at the hands of the company)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Actually have little that I can say negatively about how the company is managed. This is only a minor detail, but possibly try to pay more attention to the disparity in workload between the tech teams - some have teams that are regularly putting in overtime week after week, while some regularly have techs that are looking for work for hours at a time

I worked at Switchfast Technologies full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Good place to learn. Don't stay more than 3 years.

    Cons

The pay is really low. You could make more waiting tables.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I almost doubled my salary after leaving. Do not stay more than 3 years.

I worked at Switchfast Technologies full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Gained a lot of experience in the Marketing and IT fields. Had the opportunity to front projects.

    Cons

Only moved up if you made sales (I originally applied for marketing). Had to have sales mindset to be able to move up in the marketing department. Not much support from upper management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make more paths to help employees grow in the company.

I have been working at Switchfast Technologies part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

It allowed SOME exposure to other elements of business which was beneficial, however it was difficult to break out of the intern/cold calling role.

    Cons

Low compensation, interns feel undervalued, only purpose is for cold calling.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Map out better career paths between entry-level interns and their management. Not everyone wants to cold call for the rest of their life.

I worked at Switchfast Technologies full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    - Transparent work environment - upper management including the CEO were always available.
    - Coworkers were great – Laid-back, enjoyed what they do and fun to work with. Made many friends while working at Switchfast. They hire great people!
    - Excellent Training Opportunities – Internal training sessions and job shadowing jump-started my technology education right out of college.
    - Obtained a variety of experience fast - Every project covered something challenging and new. Working at Switchfast right out of college provided me with the experience needed to pursue many careers in technology.

    Cons

    - Career advancement was limited at first, but as the company began to grow more opportunities became available.
    - A lot of dedication is required to gain experience that quickly. Projects were overwhelming at times, but in the end the experience that I received was invaluable.

Current Employee - Support Technician II in Chicago, IL

I have been working at Switchfast Technologies full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The core values are Integrity, Determination, Helpfulness and Agility. Crucially, these are not just 'buzz words'. Upper management actively pursue and reward actions towards these.
The quarterly questionnaire demonstrates a desire to improve employee satisfaction. Feedback is taken on board and acted upon.
    Transparent managerial style.
Healthy push towards education and growth.

    Cons

Compensation is not the best. If $$$ is your driving force, maybe Switchfast is not the place for you.
As with any service industry, some clients can be a pain to work with. The flip side of this is that management will have your back.

Excellent experience -- tons of opportunity to grow and plenty of support along the way

Former Employee - Marketing in Chicago, IL

I worked at Switchfast Technologies full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Great culture, extremely transparent managerial style, lots of opportunities to grow into more advanced roles. No politics or nonsense in upper management. You get what you put in. Employee feedback is taken very seriously. Substantial effort and resources put into maintaining employee satisfaction.

    Cons

Compensation is definitely reasonable, but you'll probably always be able to make more somewhere else. The company is always growing and is thus always experiencing some form of "growing pains," usually related to how it structures service delivery.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It seems like those who succeed at Switchfast are those that quickly become comfortable with reaching out for help and collaboration with others. I think you should do more to encourage and even formalize that process of "assimilation."
