Truly a worthwhile, productive and enjoyable ride.

Consulting Engineer (Former Employee) Chelmsford, MA

ProsSome of the best and brightest engineers. The work atmosphere was very relaxed. Office politics were never an issue. Great health benefits.

ConsNot enough emphasis on personal development opportunities. Occasionally some of the product development decisions did not provide the most prosperous path forward.

Advice to Senior ManagementIf an opportunity presents itself, take off the gloves and go for it.

    Sycamore Networks

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Westford, MA

ProsGreat people to work with, management had an open door policy when you had issues. If you had problems the team approach to solving them was alive and well at Sycamore

ConsSr level management could not look into the future when it came to new products for the networking industry. They would buy new companies to increase revenues but most if not all never panned out to what Sr. level management thought it would bring in for sales revenues. Thus they paid too much for little return

Advice to Senior ManagementManagement needs to make some decisons on the direction the company is going to go in. Too many sr level people do not have the best interest of the lower level workers in mind

Sycamore Networks based on technology is an initiative company.

Principal Engineer (Current Employee) Shanghai, Shanghai (China)

ProsSycamore Networks is based on technology development; emphasizes on developing high quality products and solutions in intelligent bandwidth management and wireless broadband optimization fields.

ConsSenior Management is not good at team management and is lack of employee incentive. Career development is limited, and there is a apparent ceiling in position.

Advice to Senior ManagementSycamore Networks shall not only concern the development process of product, but also emphasize on employee career development , performance review and incentive. That is, it shall invest much on R&D for producing high quality product so as to meet customer's needs.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
