    Pros

    Cons

A lot of management changes. The company has been bought out two times in a six year period.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I worked at Symmetry Medical full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The medical industry is great and continue to have growth opportunities. This company fortunate to be in such a good industry with a bright outlook.

    Cons

Management revolves around in self-advancement and personally experience more two-faced GM's and other high level managers, than I have in other companies/industries I have worked. The environment makes you be fake and tests your own integrity, and company leaders will do alot to show improvements without true substance behind the portrayal. This occured in multiple sites, but extremely evident in the midwest locations.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be real, allow other employees to expressed their thoughts without feeling they will lose their jobs or get punished. Just because you are in the position to judge people, does not make you right.

I worked at Symmetry Medical full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

A good place to experience and learn the corporate world of medical device manufacturing. They follow the minimum standard of the industry to keep their image. I meet some good and qualified people in the industry.

    Cons

Frustrating organizational structure-- too many VP's and managers who are tied up to their desk with a six figure salary, no real job, and could not make a decision about the business. No clear directions. They just hang out and wait for problems to come up and make heroes of themselves then throw someone else under the bus or fire somebody as the ultimate measure to keep their image.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I think for a publicly traded company you should be ashamed of yourself because you are wasting investor's money. You can do better than that.

I have been working at Symmetry Medical full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Wide range of products, few good people

    Cons

Everyone that was there ran as fast as they could when they discovered the train wreck that is Symmetry Medical. Do nothing managers are rewarded and the ones who do all the dirty work are let go on a continual basis. The plant is filthy for a med device company and there is no maintenance done to building or machines. They cannot fill Quality Manager role due to everyone knowing in the industry that Symmetry is a bad move. High scrap and no design reviews worth mentioning make prototypes a disaster every time. Looking to get out at first opportunity, at this point I would drive 50 miles each way just to get away from this nonsense. Good luck if you go there as "I told you so!"

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Wake up and run the company they way a med device company should be run!

Typical benefit plans. Generally good systems in place. Great people and a strong corporate involvement. Solid customer base.

    Cons

  11. Working here was very frustrating.

    I worked at Symmetry Medical

    Pros

The best part about working here was that I now have experience to take somewhere else and hopefully do better there. I also met a handful of friends in my years at Symmetry.

    Cons

Leadership was terrible. We never knew who was really in charge or what it was they really wanted out of us. Our QA was never consistent and our managers never did anything to help us out with it.
