Pros
An exciting science based company which is growing. .
Cons
Syngenta's history of many legacy companies (Ceiba-Geigy, Novartis etc) means that there is sometimes issues around internal processes, although there are many projects ongoing to improve these processes.
Advice to Senior Management
More women in senior management!

Great professional learning and growing environment; exciting company with good prospects; conducive atmosphere and good internal infrastructure

Organisation and responsibilities not that clear; leadership not very strong although professionally very competent; need to build your own way forward
Advice to Senior Management

Pros
Very nice people to work with.
Very accomodating to your life and needs.
Interesting work.
Cons
Was left out of the loop on many things, had to find information on my own with some detective work.
Communication from regional management was not that good...it was one way communication top down.
A lot of chaos took place when converting systems...and then postponement.
Expect people to work at location that will close. Poor morale.
Advice to Senior Management
Include everyone in communication process making it 2-way.
Set realistic expectations and deadlines in projects.
Don't expect high morale from people with no chance at remaining employed long term.
Pros

Pros
Passion of Syngenta is 'feeding the world" In general people all belive in the importance and impact of their work. There are parts of the organization very dedicated to pursuit of science advancement. Syngenta won a best place to work in science nod in Science magazine this year.
Cons
Very limited opportunities for advancement and very little emphasis on employee development. There is a belief that people believe so much in the 'cause' that there is no need to fully engage all employees that do not want purely technical advancement.
Advice to Senior Management
Recognize the demographics of the company and place more emphasis on retention and career growth of the current employees. Ask the hard questions and enter the debates with various business units to gain awareness.
Pros
product line, pipeline, solid financial performance
Cons
Tremendous workload - do more with less. Senior management lack of respect for sales force
Advice to Senior Management
Don't loose touch with grower, channel, or sales force. People do business with those that they like & trust
