    Pros

A few fantastic managers and intelligent people who make the environment tolerable.

    Cons

Definitely who you know that counts here. There are still people here with little or no education who have been here forever and are power hungry; they are ill equipped to handle change or manage anything, let alone other people who are educated and intelligent.

    Advice to Management

Interview and review employees and get rid of the dead weight, if you really want to save money. These people stand up for each other; there are people here that couldn't hold a job anywhere else, if they functioned the way they do here.

    Pros

People care. Work life is emphasized as an important value. The longevity of the people who work there provide both stability and a testament to the environment. Global mobility is highly encouraged as you progress in the organization.

    Cons

A bit of a slower pace as a Swiss-based company. Processes a bit thick to navigate.

    Advice to Management

Make process changes easier. People who are trying to make changes for the better are getting slowed down due to laborious change requirements.

Managers who don't belong in management position but rather in the science field they studied in. Poor leadership and lack of equal treatment of employees.

    Advice to Management

Hire educated and trained managers rather than someone who has worked there for 45 years and has a science background.

    Pros

You will gain some of the most in-depth knowledge of crop protection available in the horticultural industry. The expertise of management far surpass that of the norm,

    Cons

The politics of big agribusiness are a bit stifling and can slow down really great ideas.

    Advice to Management

Find the fire in all your employees, even the interns who show the most desire to be part of something bigger than themselves.

    Pros

The benefits are excellent. There are job opportunities IF you are able to relocate in most instances. Large emphasis on giving back and helping out local communities.

    Cons

Some operating systems are either outdated, or extremely hard to get enhancements and/or fixes implemented. Successful management training skills are lacking.

    Advice to Management

Employee appreciation is directly related to motivation and pride of ownership. Line managers need assistance with understanding and engaging that process.

    Pros

They put much sincere effort into people development, in most departments / jurisdictions.

    Cons

Becoming more and more focussed on share price, at the expense of customer focus.

    Advice to Management

Do the best thing for the customers, and it'll pay dividends in due course. Sometimes patience is required for this, as it is for any investment, especially in agricultural related science.
