    Pros

Good products, good people, good opportunities to succeed.

    Cons

Poor leadership and culture. Pay not competitive. Too much middle management and work load. Poor business model.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in field sales and R & D. Syngenta will benefit from less middle management.

I have been working at Syngenta full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The brand name and the benefits are really good. The products are good as well. Other than that, it's not a rosy picture.

    Cons

The company is shedding employees like dogs shed hair. Long-term employees are being replaced by young-un's, literally just out of college, who have no clue how business works or how to talk to customers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When you make a decision to reorganize- do it all at once. Don't do it right before the holidays and don't leave people hanging for the next wave... You keep the same management yet change the folks that actually get things done... Cronyism has to stop.

    Pros

Good holidays, some good management, and in general ok. Operating staff are excellent; helpful and full of some excellent ideas.

    Cons

Not innovative, not a lot of opportunities to progress, even with SIPM. SIPM also a fatal flaw to driving improvement in the workplace. Meagre pay increases, and lack of leadership.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Nurture your staff and they will drive your success.

I have been working at Syngenta full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

The people in this company are mostly smart, dedicated employees. The benefits are above most other companies, and the idea of the company is worthwhile: feeding the world.

    Cons

There is too much outsourcing. The outsourced companies are not reliable or effective. We can't be focused on the customer because we spend so much time doing the self-service tasks. While it may be cheaper to pay for people working in India, the soft dollar cost to the Syngenta employees makes it a losing venture. The company is on a downward trend.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bring services back in-house in order to run smoothly. Stop asking us to do so much with so few resources.

I have been working at Syngenta full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Good collegues, good benefits, good work environment. Had good vision but now it seems the focus is weaker.

    Cons

Outsourced HR and finance had added huge implications and inconvenience to all employees. The program of outsource might be better if it is properly managed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

"Do what you say" is very important.
Leaders should be risk takers for decision making and responsible for the outcome. Cost cutting is important but look at its impact too. Reward those who show actual tangible results will be a good way to encourage more of such behavior or people.

Used to be a really good company. Pity, it had changed much

I have been working at Syngenta as a contractor (less than a year)

    Pros

Leave Policies are good, No time Constraints, you have freedom to work on your own, less politics

    Cons

Very very low salary, most of the staff is employed on third party payroll and 3PL employees are treated as temporary employees and are given very less salary compared to on roll employees. appraisal period is also long and very low raises and hardly any chance of promotions

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Compensation, bonuses, incentives also should be provided
