    Pros

    Great work-life balance.
    Great opportunities to explore new areas.
    Lots of improvement opportunities which gives a lot of space to employees to explore areas of interest
    Leadership down to earth and approachable

    Cons

    Very diverse on low levels, when it comes to senior leadership it stops.
    Very long decision making process for not such huge company. The company too many forums, committees and teams because managers cannot take decisions.
    Long term goals are unrealistic which translates into short term goals also unrealistic which translates in mediocre behavior since "the goal was too high anyways"

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    The company is losing its values. When I started in this company everyone talked about "the Syngenta way of doing things" which was a culture very difficult to define but with whom everyone was identified. I think the last time I heard it was two years ago....do what you need to do to recover the values that made this a great company.

    Pros

    You can do whatever you want as long as you can write a good objective to justify your manager and HR's existence

    Cons

    Decrease productivity and efficiency as you spent a very very long time (on average at least a few days) to write objectives instead of doing any 'real' work

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Don't waste time to justify your existence. We all know you are here. I know Mike our lovely CEO got paid over 5M in 2010...so..you are here...suppose to increase our productivity...not to decrease it!!!

    Good benefits, highly profitable business (easier decision-making), overall easy-going ways-of-working.

    Cons

    Leadership completely lost - there is no clear vision of where the company is going, fat-cat structure in senior leadership with too many almost-retired cruisers, latelly terrible climate in office due to restructuring. High level of outsourcing done wrong.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Restructuring shoul be done at once, not over the course of 6-12 months (employees are basically kept waiting for the worse). Corp culture and employee satisfaction are not only about pay, but the way they are treated and the way they see their leaders. Outsourcing hr is the worst way of trying to solve a problem with employee satisfaction.
