    I worked at Synova as a contractor for more than a year

    Pros

    Great long term assignment, easy to deal with and excellent clients to work for during assignments.

    Cons

    No benefits, pay a little low.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Allow for PTO or paid time off, many companies close during holidays or have shut down periods, during which time consultants do not get paid, so considerng some prorated pay for those times. Thanks

    I have been working at Synova as a contractor for more than a year

    Pros

    Synova provides a great work environment for its HQ employees and provides great support for its contractors. Synova's hiring process is simple and straight forward. Synova provides a fair benefits and compensation package.

    Cons

    When working as a contractor your negotiated rate and benefits are SET IN STONE. There is no way to renegotiate anything later down the line.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Great recruiting process and contracts management. For employees new to the contractor process, ensure you stress the how that process works during the recruiting process.

    I have been working at Synova as a contractor for more than 5 years

    Pros

    They provide decent pay, 401k, life insurance. They treat you great while they're recruiting you- after all you pay their salaries. They offer bonuses if you recruit others too.

    Cons

    Medical benefits are expensive, don't expect a raise or any help. Once they recruit you, they forget you. It's difficult to get them to work with your manager to get you a review or raise. What you see is pretty much all you'll ever get.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Remember that your contract employees are the ones earning money for the company.

    I worked at Synova

    Pros

    nice campus; folks are approachable and helpful; dedicated and very hard working

    Cons

    need to be political to live in the system;
    complete dependence on a couple of clients while rest are kept at arms length;
    too much centralization of the process;
    restrictions galore - cannot get onto websites of clients or vendors who are working with Synova; place is run similar to a call center system;
    any and all decision on any and all activity has to be given the blessings of the management;
    hr believes working on 2 job portals is enough and no options to use any other hiring channels - no social networking allowed, facebook, linkedin are blocked;
    handful of people are treated very well while all others are treated as cattle;
    management seeks the opportunity to fire or create trouble for the "cattle";
    process implemented is not a process at all

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    get yourself another place to work - time to let the "cattle" work and do what they need to, to get the job done than to work for you lot. getting an exec mba from top b-school does not mean squat if the essence and spirit of the course if not implemented - arrogance cannot be supplemented by plaques and certificates
