I worked at Syntel full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Incase you are willing to sacrifice your health and personal life, join this company and learn what struggle is.

    Cons

    1) Very unprofessional people(including senior management)
    2) Poor policies and HR processes. They tried to falsely impose fine on me when I resigned, for being on long vacation. I had to fight to prove them wrong.
    3) Many of employees are working since ages and just because of good relations with senior managers, they consider themselves owner of company, irrespective of how worse they perform.
    4) If you are good at your work, you'll be overburdened with other people's work as well.
    5) Management focuses on short term gains instead of long term plannings. So they end up losing clients quickly.

The list is very long to write here.... I had to quit in one year of hell, what else to say.

I have been working at Syntel full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

You can work for their clients directly without being bothered.
    Nothing really stands out.

    Cons

They dont apply for your green card even though they commit. Net net they dont care for their employee's needs.
Work life balance is negative if you manage client relationship.
They dont increase the package annually. No sick leave.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

They need to change medical insurance policy and need to start doing green card for their employees.

I worked at Syntel as a contractor for more than a year

    Pros

    * Syntel placed me with a large US corporation. It was a faced-paced environment with opportunity to work with Windows and Solaris servers and web apps. I learned some great database skills.
    * I worked full-time for Syntel. They offered two weeks paid vacation, paid holidays and high-deductible medical insurance.
    * I didn't have to worry about the 6 and 12 month contract nuisance since I was full-time with Syntel.

    Cons

I speak only English and had trouble communicating with my East Indian co-workers. The clients' managers spoke English as a first language and helped me during the initial training. I was isolated, not because people were rude, but because they couldn't talk to me.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Indian managers should let American workers know to really "sell themselves" to management so that their hard work is recognized. Save emails with praise and note any compliments and send them all to your Syntel manager and other Syntel supervisors.

I worked at Syntel full-time for more than a year

    Pros

They went above and beyond to help me with the position.

    Cons

Sometimes the third party company that you are working at is hard to get along with and because you are third party employment they treat you like it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would work for you again. Please listen to what your employee's have to say and check in with them often to see how are going.
