    I worked at T.G.I. Friday's full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Team members are truly nice people and deserve better.

    Cons

Lack of trust and integrity with upper management. Decisions to promote questionable, MITs hired questionable at best. Too much micromanaging And no emphasis on development or recognition. Last 6 months have been panic driven, all hands on deck calls, purging of high priced leadership and a terrible decision with "endless appetizers ". One particular New Director has a history of no integrity, covering guest complaints (GM), using cooks from another location to validate and fraternization with staff. Hard to respect.

    Cons

upper management was only concerned with profit. nothing else. My supervisor was promoted based upon the fact that he trained the staff to manipulate survey results

    I worked at T.G.I. Friday's part-time for less than a year

    Pros

It provided work experience that is useful for continuing a career, but even such experience in food services is not easily transferable to other industries. Training was of an acceptable caliber.

    Cons

The coworkers and management were unprofessional and the atmosphere was less that tolerable. Compensation is also less than should be offered.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Adopt better values when hiring upper management so that other employees are of better quality.

I have been working at T.G.I. Friday's full-time for more than a year

    Pros

None really. It helps pay my bills, that's about all.

    Cons

The kitchen is filthy. The kitchen staff is horrible. The FOH staff needs a major overhaul. No one is held accountable. The DM worked there a little over a year before he jumped ship. There was no DM for 6 months before that, and I imagine there will be no DM for the foreseeable future. They send out coupons every week. You can't have high comps, but you also can't have complaints. The only way to satisfy the clientele at this location is to just give everything away. This is the only place I've ever worked where you had to pay to get an employee discount on your food. You also have to pay in order to have a "free" drink while you are working. Trainees don't even get free food, ridiculous.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Tricorp needs to figure out what they're doing. Hire upper management that actually cares about people, not just the bottom line. Quit sending out coupons every other day. Quit making stupid policy changes and cutting employee benefits.

    I worked at T.G.I. Friday's full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Decent salary, excellent vacation, okay benefits, good schedule

    Cons

This used to be a great company to work for when I first started over 20 years ago. Since then, they have lost the soul that made this place so great. People are promoted to manager status because of WHO they know instead of WHAT they know. You end up with back-stabbing a**holes that will screw you over in a heartbeat in positions they don't deserve.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Restore this company to its former glory before it is too late.

    I worked at T.G.I. Friday's full-time for less than a year

    Pros

After two months of misery and coming home in tears, I quit and was free from this place

    Cons

came in to work a morning shift... left at midnight with no one ever telling me that I would be staying the whole day. Horrible, mean management. Co-workers do not treat hostesses with respect and ignore and berate them constantly. Lied about what I would be getting paid.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay more attention to your FOH and have some respect for them as human beings. When another host calls in or no-shows, at least have the decency to warn the morning hostesses that they may or will be staying later. Do not make yourself so "frightening" to your employees that they will simply make decisions they are not trained to make - or do anything at all costs to avoid having to come to you. You are managers - manage. Also, be more clear about your compensation. I was told I would make 8.00 an hour when I was paid minimum wage.

    Pros

Co-workers can be entertaining sometimes, and customers can be enjoyable.

    Cons

The cooks harassed me for being a lesbian.
The managers don't do anything for their employees.
The GM belittles his employees in front of customers.
They go off of a "Team" but only an exclusive few are allowed on the team.
Managers talk bad about you behind your back.
