I worked at T-Mobile full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Overall was a very good experience and you can learn a lot about retail sales and building customer rapport. Its a great start for someone who wants to pursue retail.

    Cons

Some of the cons were dealing with irate customers and always being expected to hit quotas that can sometimes be unrealistic. At the end of the day your managers want to see good behaviors and its ok if you dont hit your metrics.

I have been working at T-Mobile full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Employee Phone Lines, 401k, medical benefits and paid time off. Decent pay and commission structure. Vacation starts from day one of employment. Other benefits begin as little as 30 days afteremployment begins.

    Cons

Management skills are poor. A lot of fraud being committed on a daily basis. Can't miss work without being harrassed or threatened. Management always considers everything to be a conflict of interest. They barely work around your schedule, they work around what's best for them! I'll be leaving this company soon, but look otherwise. This company sucks.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Train your management better and make sure they know what the words "conflict of interest" mean before using them. Treat your employees like you care about them.

I have been working at T-Mobile part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The phone plan and discounts are well worth the cost. If you happen to have a great management team, you will get all of the support needed to move forward within your career (if you plan on having one with this company). The company does take care of its own.

    Cons

Too many changes and adaptations to be made. Too focused on signing up new customers as opposed to fixing the problems needed to keep the existing ones. The commission structures and the way they keep changing it makes you work harder for less money.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Support and guidance.

A good company to work for, not the best choice to grow with:

Current Employee - Assistant Store Manager in Brooklyn, NY

I have been working at T-Mobile

    Pros

Competitive salary, College tuition reimbursement, Good benefits.
A perfect job for a college student. Flexible schedules for part-timers.
    A safe work place.

    Cons

Very little room to grow. T-Mobile in Brooklyn, hires mainly from the outside. The company has cut a great deal of its budget since the beginning of the recession.
Simply put, a good job for students, but a hard business to grow with. There is very little internal promotion.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Police your employees. Senior management, such as Market Managers and Divisional Directors, do not police their store managers. There are no checks and balances. Communication is very poor. Employees need to be constantly glued to their email.
