Advice to Senior ManagementGet involved with your employees. Help them out. Don't just sit in your office and try to lead from there. Get out on the sales floor and support them.

A fun, decent-paying job with some major flaws. Felt like playing for a farm team.

    Retail Sales Associate (Former Employee)
    Louisville, KY

ProsCompany itself seems to be on the rise. Leger et al are doing a great job at a corporate level. Good perks, good commission, Lots of freedom if you're hitting your goals. Has a very "lean," almost startup feel (can be a pro or a con)

ConsPoor or nonexistent training, especially compared to other carriers. Very little investment in stores and systems. Irrational focus on small business in a rural market with spotty non-urban coverage. Product remains subpar compared to the two big guys. Local middle management seemed overwhelmed by the company's turnaround.

Advice to Senior ManagementI know money is spread thin with all the network upgrades going on, but you gotta find a way to fix basic infrastructural problems. A notebook-paper sign-in sheet at the front door of a corporate store is not gonna fly for a tech company in 2014. It would also be nice to have demo phones that worked Fire the idiot who convinced you there's growth potential in the current Small Business plans. Keep up the marketing and LTE push.

Great Upper Management, Not great lower management

    Retail Store Manager (Current Employee)
    Arlington, TX

ProsThe atmosphere is usually upbeat. The pay incentives are nice. PTO is very generous.

ConsThe lack of leadership from middle management. The lack of accountability to provide employee stability. It can be a miserable place when the management is under pressure. There is a significant lack of coaching and development of current employees.

Advice to Senior ManagementExcellent benefits, and excellent upper management. Come up with a way of holding managers accountable to developing the leaders underneath them. John Legere is a fantastic CEO. He has made T-Mobile a better place to be, and it just needs to continue filtering down.

    Good company

    Procurement (Former Employee)
    Bellevue, WA

ProsCompany values was good. Liked working for my boss until I changed to a different department. Work environment was relaxed and co workers were friendly. Also benefits were good.

ConsDepends upon manager and department, there is some negativity, problem between co workers. The benefits are good (health insurance, 401K) but ok pay

Advice to Senior ManagementGrowth within the department should be encouraged and not be challenging. Less stressful environment and employees should feel that they have job security

    Store Manager

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
    Chicago, IL

ProsGreat retail "in store" environment. Other employees in other departments are very open to collaborating to make things happen...New CEO appears to be taking things in a new direction. Hopefully that can trickle down to mid-management,

ConsLack of sense of direction. The company is not sure who they are. A person has to work there an eternity in order to get promoted. Lack of focus on building bench internally.

Advice to Senior ManagementFocus on what is important. Balloons are not important! Diversity is important!
