I worked at T-Mobile part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Great commission, paid vac, perks and etc work/life balance out

    Cons

I had employees who loved me when I came to this place but after I beat them on their monthly quotas they started to get jealous and they smile and have fun with ya, but they do whatever they can to get u fired or troubled. watch your back.

Managers are cool and all but again they abuse their power at times and never say sorry in front of other staffs, their egos are real as it can get

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be an example all the time, and dont put someone who cuts corners and do illegal things in charge of other employees that are easily trusting.

No longer a good work environment!

    I worked at T-Mobile

    Pros

    Good market strategy - Uncarrier
    Good compensation
    Reasonable yearly paid vacation

    Cons

Horrible management- strong individual contributors promoted to management without any management training! Recipe for dissatisfaction and high attrition

Very political- play the game their way or leave. No room for me ideas. No empowerment!

No work life balance at all - if you have a family, this is definitely not the place for you. Expectation is work how ever long to get the job done. Tough deadlines and no flexibility. Very little reward. Definitely not a place for new mothers.

HR useless - they are management's mouth piece.

Work environment has changed drastically since uncarrier. They function like a sweatshop now!

Recurring reorgs every 6-12 months - People are randomly thrown in jobs they may not like and there is no choice. Existing employees have to go through the same interview process as a new applicant making situation even more frustrating.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promote people who are worthy and capable of leading people. Not every strong individual contributor can become a manager. Provide them with extensive training.
Bring back some of the old supportive culture. Develop a policy to help support new mothers returning to work.
Listen to your employees concerns and help them. Don't try to shrug it off as issue that will resolve on its own.
We are willing to work hard, provide us with the right platform and balance.

I have been working at T-Mobile full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

There are some really great managers and people that work here. There is on some teams a feeling of a family. John Legere is a fun CEO to work under and is a part of the culture not an untouchable.

    Cons

They use too many outsourced resources which is a problem with technology in general. This causes excessive overruns in projects and hoarding of information by the outsourced companies. The consulting firms take away from the project, moral, and ability to stay on budget.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire people full time. Over and over again we see that projects fail or have excessive time and overrun because they are outsourced. Believe in your people and hire them!

    I worked at T-Mobile full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Teams at T-Mobile become family. I had the opportunity to grow my career over 11 years in many different positions. Every time I sought a change to grow my skills, TMO was able to come through. Over the course of so many years I saw many leadership changes, and organizations always go through their ups and downs. TMO can provide opportunity, it is up to the employee to seek it out.

    Cons

Highly dynamic and fast-paced. Driven by deadlines. Great benefits, but you work hard. You also play hard.

I have been working at T-Mobile full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

T-Mobile has a great culture. The company has stated values which they actually live, they are NOT just a nice sign for the hallway.

    Cons

Like many large companies it can be hard to effect change. If you want to change something many different groups get involved which can really slow things down.
Also like many companies the benefits have been decreased. The employee phone program and PTO/vacation are a lot less generous than they used to be.
