    I worked at T-Mobile

    Pros

easy going sales environment, pretty low pressure compared to other companies i worked for. I would recommend for first time sales associates to gain experience. Set schedules were very nice

    Cons

fluctuating commission structure, company was constantly hiring outside management instead of promoting from within. overall not a bad place to work

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promote from within. play more contests. listen to your employees and try to solve more issues. Also try to be more competitive with walmart and other indirect companies

    I worked at T-Mobile full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Interesting technology stack that's never boring to work in. You get to work with some pretty smart people 'in the trenches'.

    Cons

Leadership at the director level and above are scumbags. If you keep your head down and don't aspire to much you'll be fine.. but if you become too ambitious prepare to get labeled "unwelcome in any leadership capacity" at the company. Also there is a printed (non electronic) list of people who are not welcome back.. it's kept by a few people in HR. If you get on that list - you never get off that list.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Your current successes are to be short lived if you don't learn to embrace the people who really can and want and are able to drive significant change. Quit promoting brown-nosing backstabbers for once in your miserable leadership existence.

I have been working at T-Mobile part-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

T-Mobile cares about their employees, period. They take care of them with a very lucrative benefits package, competitive pay and a fantastic culture.

    Cons

Retail environment can feel a bit sophomoric at times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep showing the industry what UnCarrier is all about - perhaps think of doing an UnCarrier move that benefits the employees? That would be amazing!

I have been working at T-Mobile part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

So the pros are you truly control your money. Where I worked there was one guy making almost 6 figures and then there was some people just making in the 20's. You don't need to work full time either if you do your probably making less than the part timers because its all in how you sell and how much. The company still care about its employee's which is really great the benefits are amazing. It is a big company and if you make the right connections you could advance and make a ton more money.

    Cons

The cons are that the commission incentives always get cut, you always make less percentage wise than before so you have to sell more. T-mobile truly controls your paychecks, the company is always asking for more, and advertising against itself so it gets in the way of moral. Promotions are hard if you don't play the political game it is a corporation. Friends usually get promoted rather than competent people. LOCATION and MANAGEMENT is probably the most important piece to working at T-Mobile they affect your paycheck the most!! Always consider your manager because they could get in the way of your money, because your going to have stupid ridiculous metrics that mean nothing like a percentage of how many emails you collect. Who care it doesn't pay you or your manager!!! so if you do not get a money motivated manager get out of there ask to transfer or ask to interview at a few locations. Always ask the manager about your pay structure and whats important to him or her, because their are those managers who care about collecting the emails and not getting paid!! (ridiculous)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management focus on growth and money motivate your employees, don't be afraid to walk the gray area because that's where your paycheck will come from. Also build a good store culture so that everyone enjoys coming to work not so that they are scared to sell and loose their jobs. Make sure to have your employee's back they will respect you more.
