    Pros

The Internship program at T-Mobile is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates to experience the corporate world and network. The 12 week program includes hands-on, real work projects and many events put on by the Internship Team. They planned an "Up close and personal" every week with T-Mobile executives where Interns could come to hear about the employees career history and advice for building their own careers. The program also had events for interns to get to know each other and network/connect since a lot of Interns came from all over the country. They said it best when they said this is NOT your typical internship. After the 12 weeks, interns walk away with unmatched experiences and in some cases, full time employment opportunities!

    Cons

Can't think of any Cons to this program!

    Pros

Worked as an intern as part of my MBA program. Had great people to work with and for, and the company Un-carrier culture encourages all employees to consider bold changes that could improve the business.

    Cons

Thinking about bold moves is encouraged - but actually getting traction with them is difficult. Those who have responsibility for portions of the business are often resistant to change. The company was spooked badly by the failed AT&T merger a few years back, and while it's definitely a very different company from that time, many of the people are still here. There's a definite tension between doing what's right/best for the customer, and doing what's right/best for the bottom line, that can be challenging to navigate.

    Advice to Management

Un-carrier is a great philosophy. Make sure it's more than just marketing. The rapid growth of the last few years has forced some things to fall to the wayside, and while that is now being addressed, remember that T-Mobile should be designing the future of wireless - not just fixing the internal problems to get to where it should be now.

I worked at T-Mobile as an intern

    Pros

Get to meet all the Chief officers Network with T-Mobile's tech partners Learn about emerging cellular technologies Learn at a faster pace than school Pay for travel and logging Have a great summer. Seattle is beautiful during the summer.

    Cons

requesting any software downloads (i.e. firefox/chrome for laptops that have only IE) can be a pain because no one teaches you how to use the EIT website to submit a ticket.

    Advice to Management

Try to catch up to some of the interns who are not located at the FSC. This can really boost their self esteem and make the interns feel more part of the group.

    I have been working at T-Mobile full-time

    Pros

If you love forecast and planning work, TMO FP&A is perfect for you

    Cons

If project-based analysis is your thing, TMO FP&A has almost no positions that will interest you; under current leadership, the team has evolved to nearly 100% forecasting and planning. For decision support type roles, you'll need to find a job outside of finance.

    Pros

Managers (at least mine) actually listened to and advocated for their employees. Great pay. Nice perks. Good culture -- people didn't seem miserable.

    Cons

As with any big company, can take a while for things to get done. Lots of layers, etc. But definitely moves faster than other big companies I've worked for.

    Advice to Management

Don't advance those mid- to senior mgrs who just go through the motions. Do more to keep smart, talented people on board.
