I have been working at TA Instruments full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits, working hours, pay, and people, including management. The company continues to grow and allows for personal advancement.

    Cons

I really cannot think of any cons in working for TA. This has been a great experience for me and I hope to stay here.

    Pros

    Pay checks are on time.

    Cons

Everything else. Raises are terrible. No bonus to speak of unless you already make a lot of money. No room for growth.

    Advice to Management

Concentrate on employee morale and fairness. Get rid of the 'good old boys' club mentality.

I have been working at TA Instruments full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Managers have an open door policy and are usually available to answer questions or resolve issues. The company has a great 401k match. Coworkers are nice. Salaries are competitive or at market rate.

    Cons

Many of the procedures are outdated or time consuming. Like many smaller companies, not much room for growth or advancement. Coworkers are nice but do not want to learn a " new process".

    Advice to Management

-Consider a cost of living raise -Offer flexible hours -Need more employee recognition

Good Company but Runs Too Lean (and run by salesmen)

I have been working at TA Instruments full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, nice building, good 401k match, friendly colleagues, own season tickets to all major Philly sports, always working with local charities

    Cons

run too lean, limited opportunities to train for a new position, easy disqualifications from raises/promotions (getting anything below "meets expectations" on any category of your review), some departmental "warring"/non-cooperation, very small raises even for "top performers" (3.5% or less), sometimes place hitting deadlines above making a quality design

    Advice to Management

-Go to bat for your employees, don't just bend to the whims of other managers and throw your employees under the bus. -Give employees fair raises as long as the company overall is profitable, regardless of whether the forecast was hit. -Giving an employee no raise or anything under 1% is a pay-cut as the cost of living goes up around the country. If they are employable, they are deserving of a raise of least enough to offset the cost of living and tax burden increases that happen year over year. -Join the modern world by offering flexible scheduling for salary employees.

I have been working at TA Instruments full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Relaxed work environment, family friendly, understanding management, & creative team thinking is encouraged.

    Cons

There is no room for growth. Where you start is more then likely exactly where you will be in 5 to 10 years.

    Advice to Management

Know the value of your employees and show them that you value them by giving them room for growth.

I have been working at TA Instruments full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

TA has a great work environment and plenty of opportunity to grow. The work/life balance is great. Most managers have an open door policy and are open to new ideas.

    Cons

I have been working here for over a year and am completely satisfied. I know there are some minor complaints in other departments, however they have not affected me.

I have been working at TA Instruments full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Work environment is relaxed with focus on completing projects. TA has the feel of a small company with approachable management including the president of the company. TA receives their benefits package through the parent company Waters LLC. TA is the best of both worlds small company feel with big company benefits.

    Cons

Since TA is a smaller organization there are less positions and opportunities for advancement.

I have been working at TA Instruments full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Due to a long product life cycle, job is only stressful at a few times. Great work culture. Work/ life balance is great.

    Cons

No bonus structure to the salary. A disadvantage to the long product cycle is that it is not very dynamic.

    Advice to Management

Product requirements should not change that often.

  10. Positive complex environment.

    Pros

    Great people to work with.

    Cons

Management structure lacks the efficiency needed to grow more.

    Advice to Management

Consolidate new acquisitions as quickly as possible. New acquisitions not consolidated do not receive attention needed.
