    A very diverse education environment

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsScholarships are available for international students. Lots of assistance are available to help students in finance especially for international students. Tutoring and writing center play an important part in the successful of students.

ConsSometimes we need to spend a whole hour to find a parking lot. School is expanding different facilities, but not health care center.

my experience at TAMUCC was exciting. motivating, and a one of a kind opportunity.

Business Development Specialist (Former Employee) Marble Falls, TX

ProsThe best part of this job is the interaction and changes that you make in the students lives.

ConsPay is a huge con, also the under appreciation of the lower paid staff members.

Advice to Senior ManagementGive more praise to your support and IT staff, they do a lot more than is realized not to mention keeping your lives a less hectic. The support staff brunt's all of the storms and only tells you about the ones that they cannot take care of themselves, which in reality the executives should be handling themselves anyway.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

A small university with small ambitions.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsBeach town, laid back atmosphere around campus.

ConsPeople placed in positions that are super critical to the functioning of the university (e.g. hiring, grants management, facilities, etc.) are usually super incompetent and super defensive about their incompetency.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop being so loyal to the deadwood that clogs up the system. I have lost grants due to the mismanagement of basic research services.

This was a great experience and learning opportunity for me.

Supplemental Instructor (Former Employee) Corpus Christi, TX

ProsThe work balance enabled me to prepare for my teaching duties while still having time for my regular classes and social life.

The pay was decent for the amount of work and the support from my supervisor was excellent as well as the opportunity it gave me to work closely with faculty.

ConsI though that the mandatory training that they made us do was a waste of time for everyone involved. Every person is different and has different teaching styles and we were all excellent students which is why we had the job in the first place. It might be better to look at the 'training' more like 'orientation' as oppose to the type of training you might get to be a derrickman for an oil company for example.
