    Pros

Company completed the proof of concept for interactive television
Information sharing between departments and individuals was an open door and flowed freely
    Atmosphere fostered work-family balance
    Company benefits were outstanding
GoldPocket hired people to build a job around their skills
Open to new processes and ideas and not wedded to a single model or train of thought

    Cons

The company was acquired by a larger organization and the atmosphere changed
Some processes and procedures were fly by the seat of your pants and not documented

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

GoldPocket management and leadership in my experience with the organization was outstanding. They knew everyone by name and job function, everyone including management pitched in where and where needed. Management provided support and explanation of decisions made at the leadership level. Overall the feedback is positive of the management at this organization.

    Pros

Tandberg Television is the best place to work on IPTV headend. The upper management has very good knowledge on the technical details of the product and always ready to help you. Flexible work hours.

    Cons

In some cases, hierarchy is not followed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep up the good work.

Former Employee - Senior Program Manager in Sunnyvale, CA

    Pros

As with many larger companies, Tandberg has very good employees in general, some exceptional ones, and some not so exceptional ones that always seem to find the cracks to hide in. It has very good technology and a premium brand name in the industry, so there's some expectation for continued success. TTV is also in multiple markets (IPTV, mobile, cable, etc.) for good diversity, job growth opportunities, and some protection against market downturns.

    Cons

Tandberg has a rather complex history. Multiple past and recent acquisitions result in confusing product and company integrations and corporate strategy as well as mixed messages outside HQ.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better communicate strategy, direction, and priority of acquisitions. Better communication between Europe and other regions

    Pros

The medical benefits are second to none really. Everything is paid with no cost to the employee. The coverage is on par with the rest of the industry. Sick days are not counted as part of PTO time, so you can get the flu and still not worry about taking that summer vacation. Also there are a lot of very smart and friendly people working there.

    Cons

There was a lot of travel in my job while I worked there. There are no corp credit cards and sometimes I would run out of money before I got reimbursed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

None really they are doing fine. Maybe create a simpler product and combine some products into one.

    Pros

It is a smallish R&D company, which gives one the chance to know people across departments.

    Cons

Absorbed by Ericsson, and its processes do not map cleanly to the larger vendor of telecomms infrastructure.

Current Employee - Anonymous Employee in Southampton, England (UK)

    Pros

Welcoming and friendly atmosphere. No boss/employee hierarchy. I am respected for my technical know how rather than my level. Senior Managers talk to the employees. Lots of people have been there a long time so it must be a good place to work, but there has been lots of recruitment in recent years. You get to work on the latest technology. There's little BS in Tandberg and an emphasis on just getting the job done. Best products in the industry, with lots of new developments going on. Tandberg has it's own training department for training in the equipment we sell

    Cons

Now part of a bigger parent company so may not have such an informal feel for long
