    Pros

Great co-workers, extra long holiday weekends, fun staff parties. No hand holding.

    Cons

Hard work and company loyalty doesn't seem to mean anything, it's quite sad, thought this agency was different that way.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look at having an HR rep on the ground in the west to get a better sense of how happy your employees truly are

    I worked at TAXi Canada

    Pros

At the time, TAXI was an incredible agency on the verge of winning Agency of the Decade from Strategy Magazine. With that said, a lot of top-tier talent was there and they were doing some cool things.

    Cons

The company culture was great in many ways (open, friendly people), but at that same time it had a bit of a "that isn't my job" kind of attitude. Socially, employees were quite approachable, but from a professional standpoint it was very "sink or swim"

I have been working at TAXi Canada full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

They provide plenty of extra company holidays and there are some very nice people who work here.

    Cons

TAXI West pays lip service to great creative but has a difficult time recognizing and supporting big ideas. If it's outside of the mold of traditional media or doesn't work 'as banner ad' expect a big uphill battle to get it produced. They are more concerned with placating clients rather than leading clients and doing what's right for the business.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It might be time to start focusing less on the money and more on the creative.

I worked at TAXi Canada full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Creativity, and flexibility work hours, great parties, compensation was pretty good, great place to learn and grow creatively,

    Cons

No work life balance, Long hours, back-stabbing for credit, too many chefs in the kitchen, make junior staff work long hours while senior directors went home

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Too much hiarchy. Small circle of directors who think they are above everyone else.

I have been working at TAXi Canada as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Great environment, wonderful setting... lots of small perks.

    Cons

You'll work more hours than a typical 9-5 job.
    The creative team is overworked.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

A lot of people don't follow up in the company or have a sense of urgency.

    I worked at TAXi Canada

    Pros

Still one of the better agency brands in the Toronto market, in spite of itself
Great junior-mid level people, good spirits

    Cons

Compromising its creative integrity in favour of big, financially-driven client relationships
Senior management disconnected from staff and arrogant

leading agency in the city trying to reinvent itself and stay relevant on global level

    I worked at TAXi Canada

    Pros

Great overall talent level... used its independence in the right way for the most part... successfully made its way from design to commercials to interactive... has a real culture and sense of style going back to the design days... will go above and beyond to service the employees with catered lunches, own taxi gym, coffee stand, presents & bonuses end of year... despite flaws still one of the premiere shops in canada and not many others better, maybe sid lee is in its class

    Cons

Senior personnel choices hit-or-miss... arguably in decline since its glory days... expanded its network too fast and spread its best talent too thin which depleted the powerhouse main agency... Amsterdam and NY acquisitions arguably cost more than they were worth and i don't mean money... different factions, surprising amount of infighting, a bit of a boys club... PR efforts for itself always better than the reality... work is more sizzle & pop than relevant... strategy group is weaker than it should be... TV is cute but no true talk value.... digital is still trapped in the era of Flash microsites and banners... integrated doesn't really happen... too top heavy... way too many ecds/creative directors/brand leads/acds for its size just look at their website... main Toronto office has become complacent with safe work while other smaller offices don't all pull weight... has lost its edge in identifying the best emerging talent and using them to fill the ranks as people leave... refuses to learn the right lessons from mistakes... ecd level up is disconnected from the work and the operations that go on daily... no way to tell how the wpp takeover is going to change the place... has a real crispin complex

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

it's ok to make mistakes but man up and make the hard call... don't delay or dawdle, sometimes for years, to fix the problem... be more critical and spend less time patting yourselves on the backs and more time thinking, what can we do better...
