I have been working at TBI full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Yes, the people are great! The atmosphere is friendly, and the work is fast pased. Employee benifits are great, compared to some packages, for a mid-sized company. There is a lot of room for personal and career growth for those who take the initiative.

    Cons

Training is a bit lacking, but with nearly all things telecom, it's usually trial by fire. The good news is that exsperiance is not needed to start, however, one has to learn not to wait to be told to do something, but rather seek out information and ask for assistance. TBI is loosly structured, but for me, thats a pro, not a con.

I worked at TBI full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The ultimate goal is to help people
Lots of flexibility for administrative/managerial staff
    Lots of PTO
Strong history in the industry (pre-2000)

    Cons

    Lack of leadership
    No organization-wide goals or plans
    Secretive management
    Very little professional development/growth
    Mediocre benefits
Cliques and favoritism determine how much opportunity you are given

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Think about where you want the organization to be, make a plan on how to get there, and share it with your employees. Hire better managers who are interested in growing and leading teams, not their own egos.

I worked at TBI full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Easy work, get to learn, friendly environment

    Cons

Management treats employees like dirt, no respect for employee personal life, expected to work for any number of hours; when objection shown, they claim to pay overtime which is supposed to compensate for all the inhuman hours. I personally have worked 16 hr days multiple times. You can be asked to work for consecutive weekends and not be appreciated for it. Only reward for employees is a monthly lunch.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Revenue is not the only thing. Employee satisfaction matters. You would earn more if your employee turnover was not so high.

I worked at TBI full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

They offer 403b and match. Thats it.

    Cons

They hire outside for management, no promotions ever. There is no training, everything needs to get done ASAP but with no training provided or resources. Health insurance is really expensive. They overwork employees and don't compensate appropriately.no perks, unless you consider losing weight due to stress, a perk.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat your employees with some respect and appreciation. Acknowledge those who work hard everyday who keep the bank open and running smoothly. You burn out your employees with a heavy workload and little pay.

    I worked at TBI

    Pros

    1. Working here beats homelessness
    2. You can make your job sound cool
    3. Sometimes the product really do help people
    4. Unlimited bathroom breaks, if you don't work in production

    Cons

    1. Unless you are a friend of the program, you are treated like poo
    2. Health insurance was highway robbery (isn't it ironic when you can barely afford health insurance in a company that supposedly improves health?)
    3. Not a place to meet people to be friends with
    4. Old-fashioned, but only in a wasteful, depressing way

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Your lower level employees are the people who keep the lights on, please treat them with some respect.
