IT section is better placed vis a vis BPO, over all senior leadership is amazingly talented because of which there is consistency in growth is achieved. Policies are unbiased and more employee friendly

    Cons

In BPO Middle management is not right people right position as they are mostly from the IT branch of TCS and know much less about how a BPO works. Its always from an IT perspective they look out for solutions and not process.

I worked at TCS e-Serve International

    Pros

Good set of legacy business in its banking bpo acquired from Citi provides good learning platform.

    Cons

Pathetic employee engagement framework, at least 30% less pay when compared to competition especially when compared with captives. Much better HR policies when it was a Citi captive.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Inspirational leadership has moved back to Citi and a glaring leadership vacuum can be seen presently.

    Pros

Growth opportunities, Work culture, Transparent appraisals, brand value, job security. Your job is as secure as a government job. Health insurance is provided to all employees.

    Cons

Flexibility. As in any other IT es job, you have to be flexible and adapt to constant changes. Work life balance can go for a toss. You might be asked to take on more responsibilities than you are willing to.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The management already does a fantastic job in my opinion. They should continue to do the same.

I worked at TCS e-Serve International full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Company's brand name & market value, growth and learning opportunities are good, sustainability and diversity in work exposure is tremendous and one can develop himself a lot

    Cons

Work life balance is difficult to maintain as work grows, while growth opportunities are good, growth on paper is purely determined by the immediate supervisor who uses grounds of personal relationship to rate an employee, HR is in the pockets of the senior management so while the policies on paper are alluring and clear audits, employees do not have a reliable authority to approach if there are issues at work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There is more transparency and fair play required at work

    Recommends
    Neutral Outlook
